  1. Excellent, but what happened to section 6, arguably the best in the trial. Mind I'm more miffed that you missed younger brother going for a swim in the river and taking tis TLR with him.
  2. I did think of the M/X yam hubs as yam brakes always seem good, maybe even off one of the smaller 100 0r even 80's, what do you think?
  3. What are the best drum brake hubs going? Obviously they have to be light and reasonable at stopping but also water proof. The Grimeca's in my Armstrong give up when they even see water
  4. Have you tried http://www.armstrong-trials.co.uk/shop.html
  5. The sump shield from an Aprilia climber is a close match
  6. Plenty of bikes of that era have no bottom frame tubes, Armstrong s and SWM amongst them, cause they were designed that way. I have removed bottom frame from Bantams with no problems
  7. There's one this Sunday at the former Clifton scrambles course which is an unusual venue as it is owned by the club.
  8. Pretty sure that the rider is Graham Rhodes who worked for Silks at the time and went on to be a fabulous classic racer. His son son, Sam, rides trials occasionally (very well) and a few months ago competed on this bike at the so called Clifton easy trial and probably would have won if it was running right. I had a quick ride after the trial and considering it's age it is quite a good machine, but I would love to try it with the swinging arm in the conventional position to see how it compares to the setup it has.
  9. As lons as you gear it low enough the WD gearbox is not necessary and tends to allow the use of 1st only due to the gap between that and 2nd. We always used B44 barrels shortened to suit and turned round on a lathe mainly for cosmetic purposes Ian Teamferret
  10. I've seen a couple advertised recently so I would guess 500-750 Ian Teamferret
  11. Have found mag, looks OK. i'm between Derby and burton in the Midalnda, how far apert are we? Ian teamferret
  12. I have an Armstrong, and the ignition appears to be very similar to the Suzuki RL250 which I have played with a lot including fitting to a villiers engine. I might have a spare one (from an armstrong), will have a look in my box of bits this weekend if I get a chance ian Teamferret
