hi all,
i have a tx pro 280 04 and can change up gears no prob but it wont change down i can stop the engine some times it works but now it refuses to change down . any ideas? as i am new to this bike

Thanks bigfoot the bike is not new i think its 03 but had virtualy no use will try the slow throtle as it just wants to rear up also riding slowly with no clutch its a bit frantic like its an on off switch instead of a throtle

just a quick question i have just bought a pro 280 does anyone have a prefrence on quick or slow action throtle
i think mine is quick and while i am only learning to trail seams a bit too much any help please

does anyone know a decent lace in north west were i can get my ty 175 engine re built all parts seam ok but needs crank seals , any idea of cost ? i just dont have the time to strip it my self cheers kev

hi brucey . i have just done a swing arm lenghten it at the wheel plates as charlie says mine must have been a bantum swing arm because both sides are bent out it takes a 400 very well. and there is 1 on ebay

hi all. Thanks charie. i did the mod on swing arm length by 1 inch . cut the full spingle adjuster off and had new ones profile cut plus 1 inch to the front this way no need to fill and it thought 1 weld rather than 2 would be stronger { could be wrong} but without the chain tensioner lugs. i drilled and then welded pins for snail cams. do you prefer powder coating or good old paint and laqure? kev

hi charlie,thankyou for your reply but now i am confused!!!! the 2 swing arms that i have both look like the pic and measure 150mm across the inside back edge. was this a factory part or would someone have kindly widened them for me. will have to dig in the garage and see if i have a striat one. but it looks like i have saved some gas,just slipped it over a 400 back wheel and it looks to have good clearance.. thank you again for your help ... kev

hi squid, i have 3 ty"s and about 5 cubs all in ready to be transformed condition. dont seam to be getting any further on.i have toyed with putting a cub engine in the ty i think that would be intresting.

just an update on the swingarm bush had one made and gt the old 1 drilled out i will put shim washers on the inside .the jobs cost

will get one made and send pics. just thought it was too simple,but it would be exactly the same as the siezed one i just took out.and only took that out to remove and reset the foot rest.

firstly Thanks for getting me out of the siezed spingle.after a few hacksaw blade breakages i was surprized how soft the bolt is.
i cant move it from the bush, but had an idea as to solve any more problems.why not make a soild bush and tap both ends to take 12mm bolts that way you could still have the grease nipple and should end the problem. any one and thoughts on this or am i just putting off paying

hi i was looking for help on a ty 175 swing arm . finaly got the dome nut off the spindle will tunn byhand but will not knock out .any one any ideas or solutions ? cheers kev

hi , wonder if any one can shed light on my question . i have a ty250 twinshock in the restoration prosses the eng no is493301604 any ideas what year modle, colour of frame, it has been painted red silver and white at some stage of its life . Thanks kev.
