  1. My son has a gas gas boy 50 and the spark is very weak so the bike wont start,i suspect the stator is at fault and after contacting gas gas uk i am told that a new part is no longer available and i can only have an exchange re con unit and have to wait a number of weeks.Has anyone looked into fitting another system to one of these bikes? as it would seem that it is a common type of failure .My neighbour has bought a gas gas boy for his son and would you beleive it he has the same problem. NO MORE GAS GAS BIKES FOR ME His
  2. He did say the frame was looking tired my gas gas is being powder coated in the next few weeks beacuse the chrome is looking rough and its cheaper than having a re chrome.
  3. Looks like its 100:1 then and best of luck but i will stick with my 35:1 ,the 16000rpm relates to my race bikes and not my 350 gas gas
  4. 100:1 Could this be the reason my engines seem to last forever when other riders are fitting new mains/pistons and cylinder re plates on a regular basis ? my background is road racing and i must ask the question why such low powered trials engines need such regular service and repair? oil ratio perhaps
  5. Hi Matty Fuel to oil ratio depends very much on oil quality and the oil companys recomendations,i use a good quality synthetic and run 35:1 . Chris
  6. I am sure this has been mentioned on this site before and i am no expert having just got back into trials after a number of years road racing but i will let you know how i practice. 1 Use the tyre pressures that you would use in competition. 2 Place you bars half way between straight ahead and full lock (i point mine to the left) 3 Place your feet on the pegs and if the bike starts to fall to the left turn left slightly on the bars and if it starts to fall to the right move the bars a little to the right. I have a trials pushbike but find this of little use regarding balance (just my opinion) I find that if the engine is running that it is easier to ballance the bike, could it be the gyroscopic effect of the crank? or purely physcological? let me know what you think. And of course if you have your engine running make sure you are in a well ventilated area ie outside
  7. I have ordered a new genuine regulator from gas gas uk for a very reasonable
  8. Hi As you may have worked out its one wire in from your gen and one out to power your cooling fan etc,you supplier should be able to tell you the correct wires. is it a combined reg/rec ? if not you will have AC and have to put it through a rectifier. Chris
  9. Hi If you pull the yellow wire off your regulator and remove your red wire from you fan switch and replace it with the yellow from your regulator all works well,of course the fan motor life will be reduced but its a good short term fix to get you out of trouble,i think i will fit a combined reg/rec unit, these can be bought from around
  10. I have checked the system and i have 14+ volts AC into the regulator but no output to the recitifier so i will source a new regulator during the week.
  11. Hi Hope this helps,i found this when looking for information on my 95 350 contact. http://www.trialspartsusa.com/tech.html Chris
