  1. Hi Chaps I have a 198b owned from new and unrestored apart from a tank repaint following a bit of prang in the late 80's (and managing to get the replacement decals ex Sammy miller in the wrong place) I had the wheels respoked with stainless spokes about 15 yearrs ago by Hagons - I added a set of sticky michs about 3 years ago (I still have the Pirelli originals - look like new but hard as a rock) and a new set of falcons this year. other than that it's exactly as I bought it. Ride wise I only ever use 1st and occasionally 2nd - its 5 speed and even 3rd is a bit high with 4 and 5 useless other than on the road. How do I insert pics? Paul Mac
  2. I'd stick with the 10/30 - if it aint broke, don't try to fix it... Paul Mac

    Brake Fix

Hi Old Mate - any info on new shoes would be much appreciated - I was fettling my 198b for the Masters Games at the weekend - spent 3 hours on the brakes and managed an improvement that lasted all of 10 minutes... let's hope the sections are all uphill on the 10th Paul Mac

    325 Or 340?

Slightly off topic I know but speaking of mono bults here's one made by a guy over here (sadly can't remember his name) I believe he made a few of these. This one was for sale a couple of years ago - wish I'd bought it simply because it's different. Good post by the way Guy's. It's interesting to get the gos on the last bikes (I have a stock 198b that's the second love of my life) Paul Mac

Seeing all these pics has spurred me on to restore my 198b so thanks Nigel, Woody and Big John for the inspiration, but I have a question that I hope you might be able to help me with. It
  13. The motor area of the pic looks like it might be a CAD drawing?

    199b Brakes

Hi Sherpa Mine are the same - have been for 15 years now and I'm sure I'll have to do something soon but the best fix is to have the drums machined and a liner fitted. Most of the Bultaco spares guys do the mod try Hughs on your side of the pond. Only prob is it adds weight to an already porky bike, that's the reason I haven
  24. Many Thanks Woody - I'll try 190cc of 10 grade to start ( I'm a bit porky) Paul Mac
