It stops the engine from spinning as quickly. It will smooth out the power, as it will have greater momentum. Grip in sand, mud etc will be increased too. I guess it depends on what type of trials you ride. If you ride rocks, big steps you need the bikes power instantaneously, I ride sand pits etc I want smoother power delivery.

Hi I was wondering if dealers allow a test ride of bikes, prior to purchasing? I notice cambride trials centres have a couple of demo bikes. I am keen on trying a gas gas, beta and Sherco. Any help would be very much appreciated.

Hi, been having some running issues. Cleaned carb, new plug fitted. Started bike for a few mins at weekend, switched off and checked coolant. Cap was more pressurised than usual. I rode tonight and coolant was leaking out of over flow, and still missfires just off idle. I have replaced head seals a few months back. I was thinking a water pump issue, perhaps do these cause water into cylinder, crankcase? If faulty. I was going to call gas gas tomorrow, but was wondering if there are any none faults?
