Hi when I take the engine from idle very gently it splutters like mad, push it a little more it clears and edge out fine.
I have cleaned carb, changed plug, a ngk bpr5es. Also I have played with idle and mixture screw. Filter is clean and exhaust repacked.
Any ideas on base settings, needle positions or indeed ste jet sizes?
Thanks in advance.

The forks on my bike are knocking, it is more prominent if on lock. The compression adjusted fully in yet they are still soft. Has anyone got an exploded diagram? Thanks.

I noticed jack shipyard did not appear on the results. Anyone know why not? Did he ride?

Just fitted a new rear shock to my gas gas 200. I need to raise the ride height, do I wind the spring lock nuts up to show more thread below the spring or lower the nuts. Currently the swing ARM is very close to horizontal. Thanks

Are the piston moving? Are you able to opporate and then lever the piston back in the caliper. The piston may be seized. If this is all ok, I would face the brake pads with a square edge of a file, whilst keeping the pad locked in a vice. Don't let the file rock, as you need to keep the surface square and even. Once this has been done, adjust the lever so you have some free play, but take the play out thus making the biting point by a small pull on the lever. If all of this does not work then you have hydraulic issues.

Just got back from Fort William. What a fantastic weekend. Section 2 was awesome, the climb up from the river, then back down. Was on the bridge.
-
Thanks for that I'll give it a go.
-
I have heard that if you get your brakes hot and then throw cold water on them this makes the brakes really sharp.
Any comments good,bad or indifferent?
Thanks.

Just bought this bike and noticed the chain was too tight. Ok you're all thinking loosen it off. Firstly the cams are on the position where the full slack is allowed. Tried another chain with an extra link then it is too loose. The front cog is standard teeth and the rear is a 42 instead of a 41. the tensioner also springs up and looks ok.
Any suggestions would be most welcome.
Thanks
Alan.

All sorted, faulty plug.

Has anyone a manual for this bike? Also, do they suffer with ignition or fuel problems.

Hi,
I have a 1999 txt 200, and I'm after some new plastics, and was wondering where I can purchase some from. Failing that can I get some new graphics, if so where could I buy these. I was also after some wheels. Again any ideas who sell these?
Thanks in advance.

Hi,
I have just purchased the above bike yet it did not come with a manual. I have looked on the Gas Gas site and the manuals start at 2002 if my memory serves me. Does any one know where I can get my hands on one?
I just wnat some basics to help me with servicing etc.
