  1. I own a new shape combo and a 250 gasser, which fits in without any problems corner to corner. The other replies are correct in that you will need to watch the handlebar grips when loading but once there is compression on the forks(when securing the bike) the handle bars should be clear of the vehicle. Hope this helps.
  2. I bought a 250 pro from shirty 2 years ago, an 04. At the time the 05 bike had been issued and I presume they were keen to shift their older stock. Me and my mate got together and bought one each for
  3. Yeah, definately one to watch for the future. Was at a club round today and watched him go through the adult A route as if it was a tarred road. Made both myself and mate sit up and take note, only to see what line he was taking!
  4. You can pick it up from most car parts suppliers i.e. main dealers. I used it when I bought my new 04 gasser and the frame is still untouched. When applying have the tank and air box off so that it can be fixed over the edges of the frame, this makes it more difficult for it to start pealing on areas of excessive wear.Generally works a treat and personally I think it looks better than all the after market protectors, the tape is almost unseen!
  5. Something that is brought up again and again amongst riders I practise with is, should there be a more expansive score card i.e.1,2,3, 4 and a 5? or a 10 for not attempting a section as often these guys score the same as the battler who risked it all in the hope they may come out of the section with something other than a 5? I mean there is no limit really for scoring, some people have 3 good dabs and the next guy paddles through with endless dabs so where do you stop. Not an easy thing to sort out it would appear but I definately agree a more uniform set of rules would benefit all.
  6. Surely there has to be a cut off point where too light is no good, the traction has to come from some where. I'm sure gasgas and other factory brands have looked into this already but if any of them were to produce a bike with as little weight as your concept where would the others be? I think it has a lot to do with sensible advances each year, every manufacturer improves on the previous year just enough to keep selling their latest models.Just my opinion!

    Gas Gas Gearlever

I bent mine in towards the casing and was going to buy a new one but reckoned I had nothing to lose by trying to bend it back. It worked perfect but be gentle with it.

    No Clutch

Think I need a new set of clutch plates? Problems- severe drag which only major adjusting cures but in doing so makes the lever extremely heavy and strenuous to use.I tried bleeding the clutch and never noticed any air but on my next outing clutch worked fine, great I thought! Changed gearbox oil through the week, was out on the bike this morning and had no clutch what so ever. Adjusted it through the range but not an ounce of difference. Drove home well cheesed off . Any ideas. Cheers
  9. When I changed them on my 02 sherco I took the bearing to a local bearing company where they made me new ones and also supplied the sleeves to match. Not sure how much they would cost from gasgas but if I remember correctly I paid only a few pounds for both bearing and sleeve. Hope this may save you a few quid
  10. I had exactly the same problem a few weeks back. The top mounting bracket had completely broken off! I got the bracket re-welded and over emphasised the amount of weld but on reassembly I had to grind most of it away for it to fit as snug as it did origionally. Not sure how long it is going to last this time but if it goes again I think there is more room on the inside of the bracket to put a stronger weld just under the spacer sleeve.Hopefully I won't need to do it though
  11. My mate and myself get out on a Sunday for at least four hours or so. In the summer with the brighter nights we also try and get out on a Thursday night for maybe 2-3 hours. If I fancy I'll take the gasser out onto the drive occassionally just to mess about but find it a little boring on your own with no sections to use.
  12. Again, if you are in the UK, try BVM-Moto.They are online and telephone and I have used them many times. I've found they are usually the cheapest around and delivery is the next day.Don't have the number handy but will be on the web page. Hope this helps.
  13. There seems to be a lot more varyations on the wd40 type lubricant/water dispersant but one I found is made by 3-in-one oils and has ptfe through it. This makes it stick to the chain better but it is still as fine when spraying on as wd40. I know this as the engine is far less splattered with oil compared to when I used wd40.
  14. Does anyone know what the prices are for the weekend and Sunday passes and do you have to pre order or can you turn up and pay on the day?
  15. This law has applied for at least as long as i've had my license (10 years). I used to drive the works pick-up (panel van derived) and was nailed for a similar offence. I soon realised the copper didn't like being told he had made a genuine mistake and that I wouldn't mind if he kept the matter to himself! Didn't work !
  16. Might be worth trying a local long distance haulage firm (Highland Haulage in Inverness or Port Services in Invergordon), these are not as expensive as you may think and often have space for small packages on there return journey. Maybe as little as 50 quid depending on the exact location and circumstances. Hope this is of some help.
  17. Thats great Stuart, thanks again. I'll be down on the 29th-1st to make the most of it, maybe cu there.
  18. Stuart, just wondering if you have that confirmation of the dates yet? Desperate to book everything and be organised for a change! Cheers in advance.
  19. Big John wasn't far out. I finally recieved my new licence too. I dont think the new licence number will apply until 01/02/05 but I shouldn't think it will make much odds at Woodside on Sunday. C U There (hopefully a little less mud than last time)
  20. Cheers Stuart, I've decided for your prompt response i'll do a gig for free (well maybe a few burgers). I await your confirmation of the dates with baited breath.
  21. I am planning to travel to Hawkstone Park this July for the World Outdoor Round being held there.I need to arrange flights/accommodation/car hire but seeing as the indoor calender has already changed I was wondering how reliable the outdoor calender is or has been in the past.I don't fancy booking everything only to find the date has changed. Any help or advice would be greatly appreciated. Cheers.
  22. Yeah, me too! I was talking about this today with another rider, I sent mine off the week before Christmas (same as last year) but am still waiting.(this time last year I had mine for two weeks already)
  23. Thanks for that piggy, makes a lot more sense than hard to spot boulders and branches sticking out of the ground!
  24. Old news I know but there was a post last week regarding a link or company that supplied the wire type section markers with the red and blue tape on top.If anyone knows of this company or the link that was shown could they please help as I forgot to note it, cheers.
