  1. Does tig make for an easier/better weld? I am looking to put the chair on a 159 bultaco or a 301 fantic. I want to do all fabrication and welding myself as you will never learn by paying for some one to do it for you.
  2. silly question but a a complete novice to metal work so here goes............I am making some brackets up to fit my trials chair to a bike. what thickness of steel should I use to make the brackets? I am learning to mig weld and can just about do steel so stainless and ali are out of the question for now.
  3. Good enough video, If I was to take my bike out in bristol I would get arrested so why can he do it? I have even had trouble for taking mt trials bicycle out!! Grinding down a historic set of steps is just vandilism im my opinion but I do like the use of brown site, run down inner city areas but why cant we all have a go? As for riding over the bridge.........any one can do that. The whole video is for show and not a true reflection of what trials is. If we are going to look at urban trials lets use the bicycle trials scene as an influence.
  4. Today i pulled my 301 out of the shed and offered it upto a side car i bought last week. I can see that a lot of head scratching will be the name of the game.
  5. Cheers paul. Really appreciate your help and surport.
  6. Hi guys, Just a quick up date. I have purchased a chair for an absolute bargin and it looks very well made. Just need to mount it to one of my bikes and the fun can begin. Massive thanks to paul who gave me a lot of good advice and pictures to look through.
  7. I personally have a grudge against electex world and will safley say they will not get a penny of my money again. I bought a electronic ignition off dave at bultaco uk for my 159 over 6 years ago and i have only just teated my bike to a second spark plug. It did run fine on the 5 year old plug but it was starting to go rusty. My dad bought one for his 199 over 8 years agofrom bultacouk and that still works fine also. I bought an eletrex world systen for my ajs stormer scrambler and it lasted less then 3 race meetings! I am fed up of trying to get thier tech guy on the phone and he has not once called me back when i was told he would do so. That my view
  8. I joined a rap band today playing the triangle. I just stand around and ting!
  9. I am considering making my garage and garden into one big doberman kennel.....just incase I cant find the keys to get the 12 bore in time.

    Very nice looking bike.
  12. Shows how the the super modified twinshocks of today are not really needed if you have a good rider at the helm. No doubt that bultaco was tweeked in 1987 by reg may or some one of simular ability but nothing by todays super trick standards.
  13. Cheers for the information. Would it be possible to get some close ups of your outfit as its a bultaco I would be looking to use. Sorry to sound dumb but what do you mean by all of the above? Side car wheel needs to lead rear by etc etc. Unfortunatly looks like the chair on ebay will go beyond my current budget. I better get saving
  14. Hi guys, There is a chair for sale on ebay for
  15. Craig is a top bloke. I would give him a go.
  16. My grippers have lasted 9 years and all i do is jet wash them off and kiwi boot polish them after. the soles have worn now and i will be buying some boulders soon
  17. I chain everything and anything together with as many chains as possible even cheap chains. all my bicycles and and other crap chained to the inside of my shed with my trial bike wont fit through the door. it will make a hell of a noise cutting that many chains and they are all inter linked. I have built a cage to the inside of the shed and have motion lights and dog. If all else fails and i hear anything i also have a 12 bore :-D
  18. My sister rides a 250 beta rev with a extra ali head gasket and a slow throttle. Its soft on power delivery but torque en mass just like a bult. My old man is getting used to it after 30 years of bultacos. The main problems are the high kick start position, brakes that work and the gear/brake levers are on the "wrong" side! i think as he only rides easy route he gets away with engine brake and using the front. clutch is not a problem as he does everything in 2nd. Detuned beta rev or evo al the way
  19. Ooooo shiney new bits
  20. My sherpa gets so neglected at times but she will always start and run for me when asked too.
  21. Thanks dude.......just what i wanted to hear
  22. Hi guys i know this is not really a trials question but are pursang motorcross bikes as bomb proof as the sherpa trials bikes? I race a stormer but i would like a pursang to add to my bultaco collection but not if they are a problem bike. Cheers
  23. I did the same thing. I bought a second had shaft for 5 quid off ebay and it took less then ten mins to replace. Just be carfull not to force it out if it does not want to go. Like Woody said you may have to cut the bent end off. if you dont you will damage the oil seal.
