  1. Hope so Stan, a sprocket isn't too expensive if it doesn't work. XR 250 can have a 12 tooth sprocket. It'll need a circlip to hold the sprocket on though.
  2. Hi Stan, Yes, it's not a five minute job! The chain seems to line up with the rear wheel after initial tape measure waving. The engine needs to drop and I think things will line up. The bottom frame tubes might go and be replaced with a good solid skid plate. If I need to the front down tube will be cut and replaced with twin down tubes somewhere below the twin exhaust ports which exit either side of the down tube. Carb will be interesting. Hi Dave. Did the obvious regarding the sprocket (with hindsight), got in touch with Talon so that should be sorted. They said TG314, 11 or 12 tooth with a 520 chain, result.
  3. Thanks Dave, I was thinking that might be the case.
  4. No problem Dave, I've been messing about to see if the engine will fit in the frame on and off all day. I think it will but the frame will need a bit of cutting. Thanks Mike
  5. Any chance you could take a measurement or two of the sprocket? I found some images but need a measurement of the gearbox output diameter to see if the sprocket will fit. If the measurements match the second pic, brilliant, third pic no go but thanks for your help. The output on the xl engine is definitely 25mm.
  6. or a KL engine... the xl250 engine seems huge in comparison to the Kwacker. XL seems to stand for extra large bottom end.
  7. Do you mean this? Its's a splendid job, very envious.
  8. Thanks , I'll check that out, the engine seems rather larger than anticipated for the montesa 247 frame. Some cutting will be required.
  9. I've bought an xl250s motor for a project and need to gear it down for trials. Anyone got any ideas for a small front sprocket, somewhere in the region of 10 teeth? Does it match anything off the shelf? Thanks
  10. To my mind you'd end up ruining two bikes!
  11. Leaky rim. This worked a treat on my scorpa rear rim. http://www.beta-uk.com/images/stories/additional_pdfs/2013helpsheet.pdf Read the bit about the rear wheel seal.
  12. Thanks for that Link cactusjack. The levels are exactly as stated in the Sherco site. That's what I ended up going with.
  13. Used the sherco site for the levels http://www.shercousa.com/pdfs/2006fork.pdf Used this site for the set up http://www.thehellteam.com/catalogue/c11/c27/c74 The right leg with the damper was the most trouble - difficult to get all the oil out. The damper rod stays attached but the tube slides down, pumping he damper seems to get most of the oil out. Volumes of oil given were too much so I went with height from the top of the tube. Have to see how it rides next trial.
  14. How do you go about changing the fork oil on a 2005 scorpa? Any advice/good links much appreciated. Thanks.
  15. I took more off the corner than that.
  16. The look has grown on me, good one.
  17. Green wouldn't have been my first choice for a Honda either... Kawasaki most definitely. Tank& seat unit looks good though.
  18. Round that corner right off, I did. It's solid, there's no risk of going through the casing. The rubbery support is Scorpa's way of trying to stop the engine casing poking through the exhaust. Mine looks just like that. See also:- http://www.trialscen...ddle-box-crack/

    Filter Oil?

The seal seems good to me & I've had mine for a few years now. New filters seem to come pre-oiled.
