NOt had a problem for 6 years with gassers and then my 08 pro decides to start shifting poorly. It shifts fine upwards, no gear is hard to engage but on the down shift it is rough and difficult to get into the gear. I have been told that when the return spring in the clutch side breaks the gear lever moves right to top and bottom, i am not experiencing this. Any ideas? Selector poles? Kind regards, Mike.

Thanks chaps, i'll get the casing pulled off A.S.A.P. I best just check that the cable hasn't got trapped too. How does everyone find the 4th - 5th gear change on the 08's? I've had a pro every year but this one seems different. Sometimes it doesn't go in the gear and drops back in to 4th. Is this ok? I've changed the oil and there were no pieces off teeth on the drain magnet. cheers, Mike

Sometimes when i pull my clutch in it doesn't go back to the bar as it should, as if somethings getting jammed. Doesn't always do it. Anyone experienced this? The clutch still works fine though. Never had one do it before.

As we've always said "give it time" but yep they are taking a lot of time!

I just picked up my 2008 280 & it is by far the best bike i have ever ridden. As for snappy its all in your heads! Preconceptions, myths!

personally its i think its a myth that the 280's are more snappy. i've had them all & in my opinion the 280 is better, The 300 just spits rocks out with torque. plus it never carburated as well as the 280! but hey you'd be better trying them. Also try riding them without knowing which is which otherwise yo'll already be favouring one or the other!

Could anyone tell me if an 07 Pro comes with an Ohlin's / Sachs rear shock? Thanks.

Had my wheels anodised by Jamie from Candy Wheels this year and i wanted to call and run something past him but i cant find his number anywhere!! Is he still doing business and if so could i have his number? Failing this any other recommendations apart from the one in TMX? Thanks, Mike

yeh i heard off one of the organisers at a trial today but cant ride now because i fell off and f****d my shoulder on a ****ty little section!!!!!!!!!

Yeh but the heat isn't really that much of a prob, i mean they are well popular accross the continent and they dont have any problems. Gutted i have to wait until december to get my 06 gasser!!!!!!

Morning fellas, I've got a 05 280 pro and my dad has a few bikes including a 4rt so i've had the chance to compare. Firstly impression was good, felt very solid when dropping off things! After riding i was suprised to find it didn't grip as well, the reason for this baffles me as i have always being told 4 strokes are good for grip. Did also feel a slight lack of power but im sure that could be sorted out. In all they are a nice bike and if they were a bit less i would consider it as i guess i woud have less problems with it.
