  1. Dont know but im lucky enough to be setting off there today to mind for a youth rider!!!!! Oh and then were off to italy for the european the following weekend!!!
  2. Ha, i cant ride anymore cos i badly sprained my ankle playing football!!!!! Ironic as i always protest footballers are a load of big girls
  3. Fair enough but the fan is working that means the thermostat is and there is no way it should just boil from practising. There doesn't have to be oil in the coolant, often the water pump gear siezes, its worth a look m8!
  4. I've ridden it for the last few years and entered for sunday, dont think theres anything to get excited about, its an ok trial but not ground breaking. yeh its two laps of 20 sections.
  5. Not sure but to me it sounds like you have a problem with your water pump. Does happen occasionally and because the coolant doesn't get circulated it often causes it too heat up and boil. Not a big job, just wip the water pump cover off and have a little investigation!
  6. Sad to hear about your problem m8. You are going to get a hell of alot of people replying to this post that "yes its a common problem".. bla bla bla. But its bull****!!! The 04 gearboxes were pretty sorted as they were altered from 04 onwards and from then they have given little trouble although admittably they have got a few other teething problems i.e. ignition etc.. I can understand that you will loose confidence in the bike but dont, you have being pretty unlucky i think, its probably come off as a result of a nock.
  7. No i always thought the opposite. All the pro's i have eva had seem to have quite a soft rear shock. There aren't any after market springs available so you'll just have to back the adjusters off i.e. so the adjusters end up nearer the top of the bike. I was always told that a good test is to stand on the bike and both shocks should go down in equilibrium. So its trial and error really.
  8. Its right in front of you!! Its just above where the clutch cable goes into the casing i.e the nipple. It takes a 5mm (i think) allen. It looks alot like the drain plug which you will have taken out the bottom.
  9. Ian J, Has your m8 being leaving it with the petrol turned on i.e. after being out on it?
  10. Last year he was very very lucky to come out on top. My money is on raga one day and calbestany the other. it'll be a nail biter!!!
  11. If you run it at that you risk blowing the crank seals!! Bet there is oil in the crankcase breather pipe. Bigfoot, 400 brings it above half on mine once started and leant upright.
  12. Just a quick addition to Subira's list, When you warm it take it for a quick spin only for a min because just warming it up on tick over doesn't do a great deal. And once atsrted and upright the oil should be just above half way in the window!
  13. Have you altered any of the carb settings since new? Also the mixture screw should be 3 turns out in this weather. If you aint changed the jetting from new its possible you would have had to wind the mixture screw out a fair way as they run weak on the standard main jet (Especially in winter), they need the next one up. Also check the end of your HT lead as often the end of the lead gets burnt away and this results in a weak spark which leads to bad combustion and thus it will run a bit funny. Good luck
  14. I decided to try it at the Chris Carter cos there was a fair amount of road work for that. It did help a bit i guess but when i nocked it off it was a bit choked up. Personally dont think you need to use it unless your doing a massive amount and you are really flyin. You've just got to go steady with Pros. The one thing that does make them overheat is holding them on the same amount of throttle, much better to vary it a bit.

They have changed the air box nearly every year however slight it may be. It has made **** all difference because they have neglected to see that the problem isn't just the design but the lack of silicon used to seal it. Split it apart and you'll see what i mean, its a joke!!!!!

You should be able to tell by taking off the clutch casing. Not a very big job. If you have just give your local dealer and order the replacement gear although depending on the damage you may need two. Its not serious and as long as you get it sorted soonish you shouldn't encounter any more problems. But there is a risk of a fragment getting dragged into the other side of the gear box and that could spell a very expemsive disaster!!

Yeh alot of people use ATF and dont encounter any problems. As for the rattle, if its coming from the engine and it quite quiet but more predominant at low revs it may be that you have chipped a tooth off your kickstart gear, really easy to do, many dont notice its happened.

Did you have to put a slightly bigger pilot jet in? My 04 300 ran weak on standard jetting. Is looking good now, how do you find the Bars? My 05 has Raga Bars which are quite low but yours seem alot higher, any particular reason or is that just how you like em?
  19. It does really make a difference to both the sound and the power delivery, dont know why because i assumed that the internals were the same but just made of a different material
  20. Just wondering if the spacers in the back of an 05 pro's rear wheel should be slightly different in size as mine are both exactly the same. The reason i ask is my disk runs extremely close, pretty much on the right hand side of the caliper instead of running central .Just worried that this may cause uneven brake wear or other complications in the future!!
  21. Yeh been twice now but only managed to compete in 3 out of 8 days cos wheneva i take a new bike out there something goes drastically wrong!! First year gear box, Second year centre box, Third time lucky this summer!!! Great trial though, organisers are really friendly, been a great help, cant imagine a summer without the road trip down there!!
  22. Yeh i can if you tell me what you want me to do?
  23. The 02 centre box requires a different silencer and although the top lads use them it doesnt mean they are better for the likes of you and me as from what i can gather they can give more power. The 03 centre box is steel and wont falll apart so that would definitlely be the way to go. If you have an 05 it would be under warranty!! It happened to my 04 300 and i know alot who had the same problem but putting the steel centre box on cetainly wicked it up a bit and not in a good way. It made the power extremely sharp!!!!

    300 Pro

JTT is right, because the 280's have a reputation for being fierce everyone favours the 300. i've had a 250, 280 and 300 and this years 280 is the best bike i've eve had. Silver looks average anyway. get a 280 m8
  25. 75cc's of oil for 5 litres, this is more than adequate and is what gas gas recommend.
