Its finally sorted! It was the carb. the floats where set up wrong, i must of put it back together wrong when i had the bike in bits! Thanks for all your help Ant

Hi houseape1000 It has a Keihin carb on it, it has been running fine for the last 8 month. I havent fallen off it neither. I am using 1/50 oil ratio as this is what the previous owner ran it on. The seal to the airbox is fine, i need to check the reed block, i havent checked this as yet. There is also a kill switch on it which is working. It feels as tho the bike is running out of petrol. Thanks for the advice i will give all this a check

I sent my stator away to WCW and they said it was faulty, ive had it re-wound and re-fitted it. However the problem still exists, ive checked the tank brather and everything is okay there. Also 1 of the manifold bolts where loose, ive tightned that buit havent rode it yet. Anymore ideas people? thanks

thanks for the replies. I changed the plug which still did not cure it, so i changed the plug again just to make sure it wasnt a faulty plug. Ive also cleaned the carb out numerous times. Its strange because once the bike cuts out, its starts again without trouble abd rides for 5-10 mins again before it starts to miss, and rev all over the place. I can keep it going but i have to constantly rev it. I will check the fuel breathers when i get home form work tonight. Thanks again

Hello all Over the past week my scorpa has been experiencing running problems. It starts up fine and runs. However once it has been rode for about 5-10 mins (once its warmed up) it start to miss fire and looses all power. I am unsure if it is electrical or fuelage problem. I have removed the stator but that looks okay but i am sending it to get checked over to be sure. Has any body else had this problem? or does anybody might know what it could be? Any help is appreciated Thanks Ant

the same happened to mine. I bought a Kehin carb as these are much better as the dellorto carbs always tend to break down.

hello mate Ive just had this problem, the carb on mine was a delorto phbh28, but i couldnt get the bike to run with this carb so i ahve juist purchased a Keihin conversion. I have a keihin on my 98 290 easy and it runs great. These do cost a small fortune but you can buy the Keihin copy form ebay which look identical but only half the price of an original. Cheers

Hello all I have recently bought a 96 scorpa easy 250 and have had a running problem with it. Firstly the carb was not the correct one, so i bought a keihin conversion, then i replaced the piston rings etc as there was no compression, but still had the same running problem. Which then left the stator plate. I sent it away to west country windings who have informed me that the pick up has failed and these are hard to come by. Do you know anywhere i can get a second hand stator, or if anybody has one spare? it has to be a 280ohm pick up. Many Thanks Ant

Hello My brother has bought a 96 easy 250, but its having problems running. It has the dellorto phbh carb. When i got it the carb was filthy so i gave it a clean out but i could not get the flow bowl to fill up. On closer inspection i noticed that the float level was way too low and it was always shutting the flow of fuel as if it was full. I adjusted the float level and now the flow bowl does fill up. I managed to get the bike running, but found it would not tick over. I have adjusted the floats agin and it will now run fine when the choke is on. I have adjusted the mixture to get it just right. I myself have the same bike, but mine has the keihin carb. Which carb do you all recommend? has anbody else had this problem? any help is appreciated Many Thanks ant
