  1. Hello stan1 There are loads of clubs around the midlands I'm with Stourbridge club which is a great club to join to start with as they do great well set out trials . But there are also clubs for Stratford, Evesham, king norton , Redditch, sutton coldfield, Leamington victory, bewdley, Dudley They can be found on acu site and amca site These all vary in difficulty as some clubs set out harder routes than others, but all do a few different routes to suit different rider capabilities. You can practice at shatterford and button oak which is where me and friends go to play! Bikes. I started in a rev 3 200cc brilliant to learn on, 250 are good but I would stay away from bikes bigger than 250 as a few people I know bought these and it is to much to learn on really. Hope this helps! Rich
  2. Hello! Back brakes are a pain sometimes, use a syringe and force the fluid up from the calliper up to the reservoir. I find you can get air trapped at the bradded hose (banjo bolt) On the master cylinder, so undo it let fluid flow out as your still pushing fluid into the system tighten the banjo bolt and I would put minimum of 2 70ml syringes of fluid through the lines Fingers crossed this works for you and you can ride Boxing Day Rich
  3. What a great place to Ride!! Rich

    Bleeding Clutch

Have you got a bit of free play on the lever? If you haven't it can stop the fluid getting back into the master cylinder causing this, or on brakes makes them drag and over heat Rich
  5. Be very careful aluminium can disappear using caustic soda (this was on a beta rev3 mid section) it went in the bin! and a friend had to buy a new one Steel is fine with it Rich

  17. hello a few mentions on here about not getting the chavs attracted to it, but i just don't think its there sort of thing as they like going fast on pit bikes making lots of unnecessary noise and have know idea how to ride or the intelligence/inclination to learn how to They will just get bored and give up, go away ,get p****d and stoned! no worries then!!
  18. Hey dave ( Fellow Tubby) one of them did get a bit hurt to be fair! Rich
  19. Wow lots of response to this! brill some of my local clubs do kids routes which is brill, other clubs don't So I suppose it down to all of us to do our bit to keep our sport alive and getting stronger Dealers to promote our sport in anyway they can so they sell more bikes/parts and fingers crossed bringing the cost of bikes down a bit for the fortunate few who can afford a £4500ish bike?? Acu to actively get it out there that it is relatively cheap to do an event compared to other motor sports as this will bring them more cash in. clubs to push it as well in anyway they can. And us riders who love the sport to get and tell as many friends family colleagues to get off facebook & twatter and do something with their lives! I'd just like to add that its not just the big fancy pants stuff the pro's can do that will get people into it, but seeing normal riders doing what they do hopefully might make kids/adults think they could do better and come and have a go! Have i forgotten anything??
  20. Wow thats lucky using his land! Yeah i agree we certainly don't want trials to get a bad name, and definitely don't want illegal riding we can leave that to kids on pit bikes! there are great people in the trails scene and all are willing to help each other out which is great, trials bicycles are a great way forward especially with danny macaskill doing his thing on youtube bicycles can be just as expensive as motorcycle which doesn't help. New bikes wont sell straight away as we are all feeling the pinch, but we should all do our bit to get friends into it, there are plenty of bikes worth a £1000 out there which don't loose any money if there kept tidy and are much more accessible to the majority of newcomers. dads buying a bike for there kids is great but does it spread further than that? I post stuff on facebook/youtube what do the importers do? dirt bike shows are great but those people are already into it. what about getting people to have a go at taster days?
  21. all very true, no new rider is going to just go out and buy new machines i started on a beta rev3 200 worth £700, and as I've got better started to move up to newer bikes. its the kind of thing you need to get friends into by letting them have a go on your own (but still risky especially when its a 290 evo!) then getting them hooked on it land theres probably a lot of un-used land in towns citys where old building or factory used to be?? no spillage of fuel issues but still lots of problems getting permission. also then not needing to drive an hour away like i have too.
  22. hello, If bike sales are down and we need more people to get into our sport to keep it alive what are we going to all do about it? I'm sure we are all very passionate about keeping the trials scene alive as its one of the most skill-full and most impressive motor sports out there. I tell as many people about it as i can most people haven't got a clue what it is thinking its racing! mention good old kickstart and they suddenly get it. personally i cant see no-stop rule changes making it any better, To me its incredible when riders composes him/herself and then springs effortlessly up something from a standing start that must be the most exciting part to watch as spectators. So How do we get more people into it? any suggestion? P.s can we all get more ladies into the sport, as they look much better in spandex than us hairy a***d blokes!! Rich Tubby Trials Team
