  1. Anyone know where i can get a case guard from to protect the engine casing if the chain snaps. I've seen Vmar ones on other bikes. I was wondering, these are held on by the the two bolts that hold the clutch slave cylinder to the side of the engine, do you need to bleed the clutch after fitting ones of these guards or can you just do one bolt at a time leaving the clutch slave attached to engine????

  2. My bruv has a 03 Rev3 (yellow plastics) and wants to add a sticker kit to it. any one know of any good places which sell the FULL sticker kits???? we've checked out SXS but they only seem to do white kits. anyone had customer kits made???????????

  3. Im in south wales in the UK. I'l have to pick up a flywheel puller next time im over the shop!!! how much do most people retard theirs????? I dont really want to lose any of the power though!!!!

    As im new to shercos and quite new to trials. How do you go about retarding the ignition??

    I'v noticed that when kickstarting it, if you dont give it a big kick and get her to fire up, she can kick back at you quite violently. is this usual?? she starts first or second kick but every time she doesnt start she seems to kick back...

  5. Another question. is there anyway of double checking what year the bike is. Its supposed to be a 2007 model but the v5 states in was registered nov 2006. I did a bit of looking and it definately has the 2007 modified swing-arm, different to the 2006 ones i've seen. I know that the new models come out around october usually, just wanted to be sure thats all.

  6. Picked up a 2007 Sherco 290 last night, very impressed with it. I've only had a txt270 up until now, i got on the bike and realised how much power these 290s have. and what surprised me is how much of a kick they need to fire them up?? The bike is in good condition, just got a slight bit of play in the back wheel bearing, anyone got any tips on changing these???? and basically any tips on servicing it or where i can download a manual from??????????

  7. Im going to look at a 2007 sherco 290. only ever had a gasgas xtx270.

    Is there any comon faults i should look for on the above model. Also what are peoples opinion on the above bike???

  8. The answer might be a bit biased being in a bike specific forum. But i currently got an old 99 Gasser 270 and im lookin to change for a newer bike. 2006 onwards. Im torn between the Sherco 290, A Scorpa or a GasGas. I love the look on the Shercos and the scorpas but have only had a gasser and love the way it rides. my friend has got a 2005 raga 300cc and i think its an awesome machine. Anyone got any opinions on the other two bikes????????????

  9. Had my auxillary tank back from the states, its a bit bigger than the H*bo one and a quarter of the price, took about a week to be delivered. I went for the 1.5Qt size. Havnt put it on the bike yet so cant comment on how it works but it looks good. Best thing to do thou, is order a few at a time cos i'v already had a few mates asking where to get it, and then you can share the postage charge.

  10. Does anyone know the distance between forks on a gasgas txt270, i need to know distance from centre of one leg to the centre of the other. Im going to order a tank from the above link (plastics company in the us). I would go out and measure the bike but im currently working away from home. Laser which size did you go for, im thinking the 2 quarts size as im a bit concerned about the weight of anything bigger.?????????

  11. Oggie I popped up to the merthyr event this weekend to have a look, the event in llwydcoed was it? What bike was you riding????? i think i watched you having a go at the hill climb section and the woman doing the marking was praising how well you was doing at your first trial. Im new to trials riding too, well had a bike for a few months but never done a trial, still trying to get on with the basics as its a totally different style from my supermoto. I dont know about you but i thought the venue was great for trials riding, theres loads of scope for different sections. do you know if the owner/farmer lets people practice up there (for a small fee of course)????????? any well done again,
