No ones going to suggest a GG Rookie?
OK, I will. Just know that he will out grow it
soon at 12. Maybe a year or 2 tops.
Full sized tires and wheels, 70cc, light light light!
-
Is 1975 as far back as it goes for the FIM world champs.
-
Any one know where I can get a list of all the world champs from the begining of time? Heath?
-
Glad you changed your avitar then Jack!

A buddy sent me this link.

Yep the TL has a trials gear box, I just wondered if the ratio's were the same as the RS / Seeley box.
As far as power, I mean't the stock TL.
Hopefully mine will have a little more than stock when done.
I could tell you but then I'd have to KILL you.
-
I don't think your really GOD,
Eric Clapton, maybe, but GOD?
GOD rides a Triumph.
-
Forgive my ignorance. In the old days a 4 stroke would start every time.
As in TL's SL's XL's etc.
It was the 2 strokes that were finicky.
What's changed so much?
-
Al, have you looked at the TI bunch?

-
Thanks Woody,
Pitley got me wondering about it.
From my understanding the TL's were geared closer than the RTL's
Still too much between the first three gears on the TL if you ask me.
Lack of TL125 power doesn't help either.
-
Are the TLR's and the Seeley's both 6 speeds?
-
You can also pull the clutch in and shift to a high gear before starting.
Just rock the bike back and forth, engine off, clutch in.
-
Thanks Nigel, I'm not sure about TTC's elevation but I'll look.
I'll be there in a couple of weeks and I'll try to remember to look at my GPS.
The reason I was wondering about the pilot jet is because of a strange problem I'm having with my 2.5. After it's warm if you let it sit for about 5 minutes it doesn't want to start back, sometime chokeing works, sometimes it doesn't and you have to kick your butt off. I'm wondering about the pilot jet being right. It seems to be fine other wise.
-
Nigel, why do you say to run a 33 pilot?
-
Hi everyone,
Just a note.
There will be a Vintage Trials Bike show at TTC
during the festivities of the WR and National.
Please try to get a chance to come see the bikes, we have some proud owners of vintage iron around.
P.S. I'm trying to get a "roughest thing running class" so I can have something there!

I love looking at Works bikes.
The Rothman's has 3 oil lines visable in the photo.
A high pressure off the side case, a line to the cam and ?
Usually a high pressure return to the case to oil the gears.
Am I missing a line someplace? I also can't make sense of some of the things
behind the bike. part of a tire, part of a kickstand thet looks attached to
the clutch cable. I'm sure it's just an optical allusion, if not that's a strange
place for a kickstand!
If you have old photos, please put them on here.
This forum has been a great history lesson for me.
Thanks BJ for all your input and knowledge, I hope to meet you some day and have you sign your book for me.
-
Thanks for the photos!
I could look at them all day!
-
Hi all,
I'm looking for a very nice photo of a pre 65 bike.
I need one that has a white background to it so that
only the bike shows up. If you have one I could use please let me
know.
Thanks.

WOW, I love this tred!
It's like walking into a mental ward of a hospital
and the patients are all in different corners talking
to themselves loudly while a few are in the middle of the room,
quite sain, listening to all the different conversations at once.
Reading this (thread)has to be what it's like to have ADHD.
-
Just to add the obvious, If your the only one checking it sure would be nice to be watching the rider instead of a stopwatch.
How nice would it be to have an audible alarm that sounds automatically when the riders tire enters the start gate and then blows at 30 seconds and then at 1 minute 30 seconds all by itself.
-
Probably need to pull the carb and clean it properly.
Blow compressed air through the jets. Look though them
to make sure they're clear. Blow some carb cleaner through them.
Sounds like you just have a piece of trash in there.
-
Atom,
I've got one here but I can't remember where I got it.
e mail me and I'll send it to you. Then you can post if if you
want.
-
You'll need to be more specific.
This may help you some.

Be careful with the petcock. Hold it with one hand and move it with the other.
Some tanks had a weak spot there.
