  1. Honda RS you posted this picture a while ago, I was wondering what colour paint you used as it looks more orangey than the original colour of my 240 frame (under the tank where it hasn't faded) and looks like a better colour match. Also what coil is fitted to the bike, does it use a different ignition pick up etc?

  2. Those little holes in those little brass thingies seldom get bigger  :D

Not true! It won't happen suddenly but a 309 is going to be 13-14 years old. I have got a 301 which was fouling plugs very quickly, changing the needle & needle jet for new ones (of the same size) stopped the fouling but also leaned things off so much that it started to pink & I had to raise the needle a notch.

  3. Thanks for the info everyone. So a 200 (non mini) Majesty has the same frame as the 250 & 320 by the sound of things?

Also, are the Whitehawk frames any better or worse than the Majesty ones, and did they use a std Yamaha tank or are there Whitehawk tanks as well?

  4. What is the difference between the original Majestys and the new ones you can buy now? As I understand it the new ones are built using NOS frames from John Shirt and most other bits are TY. Did the original ones have the fibreglass tank or were they alloy?

  5. When you changed the oil did you use a different type than was already in there? I have found that using Silkolene light gear oil (75/80w) causes the clutch to drag like a b@stard, but Putoline light gear oil (75w) works fine. Lots of people swear by ATF but GG UK told me not to use it with 2004/05 clutch plates only with 2002/03 ones.

If the clutch fluid is low top it up & bleed any air out, if it still drags take the clutch out & measure it per the GG website(s), you may need to replace the friction plates, cost about

  6. On my 03 Pro I took the airbox lid off, put a bead of Loctite silicone around the airbox seal, coated the lid with silicone grease where it touches the seal and replaced the lid. Hasn't leaked since.

Also, the teat was missing from the drain hole in my airbox so I glued a rubber flap (made from a piece of inner tube) over the hole, seems to let water out but not in.

  7. :) Now I've seen it all - a write up in Italian, translated by a Yorkshire Yank

But you have to give the Italians credit - they have got the Canadian Government in their back pocket - we will now have an official Italian TV Channel. - Just so the immigrants can get involved in the upcoming elections in the homeland. - Not that I would complain if they showed some good Trials videos - How about Donato Miglio for President ??

Slightly off topic, but have you looked up xenophobic in the dictionary? I thought trials was an international sport, hope you don't ride a Beta!!

  8. All new trials bikes seem to come with Michelin tyres fitted, are they better than other makes or just cheaper?

Do different makes of tyre work better in different conditions?

What tyre pressures are best for different conditions?

  9. Just a thought.....

Wont it mean that the more scored the disk ,after bedding the pads in,there will be more surface area in contact with each other resulting in better breaking

thats what I`ve been telling myself for months  :D

    its only a thought anyway.....

    regards

    N

If you apply the same force, (i.e. press the brake pedal just as hard) then friction is not dependent on the surface area.
