    What Oil.

Motul 5100 - 10/40 as recommended by Nigel Birkett. I've had no probs with this at all.
  2. Could it be a flywheel weight ?
  3. Can anyone recommend a camera for about
  4. You could place the nut over the stud so it can be seen through the hole, then weld the nut to the stud through the hole in the nut......got it....? This heats the stud up up a lot, and you get a nut to fit a spanner on ! if you see what I mean ! can you post a pic ? Oh and its a good idea to put a washer behind the nut. I DONT KNOW IF THIS WILL AFFECT THE STATOR OR ANYTHING ELSE
  5. Is there anything left to get hold of ? Best method is heating them up with a blow torch........try to keep the heat away from the head though. If there is enough thread showing, you can put two nuts on, and tighten them against one another, then wind out, make sure they're hot. If there's no thread showing, you will need to use an easy out, would still recommend heat also.
  6. Check fuel and air filters, and that there is no obstruction in fuel tank breather. Also check breathers on the carb ? Could the plug or plug cap be knackered, or dare I mention the infamous beta ignition/stator.....!
  7. I know its not quite the same, but....I bought about 10 plugs off ebay for about 3 quid when I was trying to set the carb up properly on my old 96 scorpa, I thought for the price of the plugs, once Ive fouled them I will throw them away......The electrode was bigger than standard, wider.....kind of. When I put the correct plug in it seemed to run crap, and I ended up using the plugs with the fatter electrode, just ran better somehow.
  8. Hi all, I recently put a new air filter in, and oiled it......I think I put a bit too much oil in the filter though, so I washed it straight afterwards before fitting. Recently I have had a few issues, thinking that the bike seems to be a bit bland. I was thinking of putting a set of rings in, to see if the power came back. Last night I washed the filter again, and used almost boiling water, so now there is only a little oil remaining, I nearly flipped the bugger earlier.....the power difference is amazing. Just thought I'd share this incase anyone else has the same issues. Also I have just bridged the fan, as for some reason the bike seems to run a lot better when the fan is on permanent.......what could cause this ? Finally, I have been messing around with the front suspension, and have tightened the pre-load by 1 turn, and added 4 clicks of dampening, it now steers better and strangely, the back end seems a lot better. It now feels really easy to hop, why would the rear end feel and act better from altering the front suspension ??? Cheers, Andy. I now have that feeling you get when selling a car, and you give it a good clean up, then don't want to sell it....!
  9. You've got all the info you'll ever need here, and a lot you probably won't.....! If the info isn't already on here, someone will post a link to somewhere that has it.....usually.....
  10. I've just bought a front wheel off an 06 scorpa, paid
  11. Just been watchin trotters burn 2009 on youtube......I now see the need for waterproofs ! When you ride a 4rt, do you get a free alpinestars jacket with it, as they've all got one on. Just out of curiosity.....how long do you ride for each day, and where abouts does this section come in to play (what day?/after how long?) as everyone looks rather cream crackered !!! If it sounds as though Im having a go, I assure you Im not......just interested thats all ! Should've carried on looking at youtube......it says its on day 1.

    Xispa

I seen that yesterday, after I looked at a 2009 scorpa anniversary model for
  13. Englishman, Irishman, Scotsman, and Welshman, waiting at the school gates to collect their children. Englishman sees his son and shouts " come on George, hurry up ", then explains to the others that he named his son George as he was born on St. Georges day. Scotsman says " that's funny, I called my son Andrew, cos he was born on St. Andrews day " Welshman says " what a coincidence, here comes David......he was born on St. Davids day " - - - - - - - -The Irishman sees David, and shouts...." DAVID........tell our PANCAKE to hurry up will you "
  14. Is that rubber bit around the rear mudguard for show, or does it flex and allow for movement.......no snapping ?
  15. just don't replace big or small end bearings, you'll soon have an oval piston !
  16. Didn't want to post this before, but this happened the night before I was going away for the weekend...... I had to get good n drunk to forget about it ! The good thing about it is that I now know that my security wasn't up to scratch........It is now ! Takes 10 mins to get in the garage with the keys, would take an hour with a stihl saw without keys....ha.
  17. Parts turned up on Friday......two days after ordering.......
  18. I'm a 6'3'' 16 stone ginger b*stard that hates thieving scumbags that think they have the right to take what I've worked hard for, and hate being woken up....... I PITY THE FOOL !
  19. You say you've changed the tyre........is it seated properly, also you might have left a tyre lever in it.....no........maybe not ! You didn't whack the new bearings in with that screwdriver did you ? When it knocks, is it at a certain point every time, keep an eye on the valve as a reference point.
  20. I got a phone call this morning at 8:30, from the wife, saying that our neighbour has just been around and said at about 1:30am as he was going for a slash, he heard a loud bang, so decided to take a peek through the window. There was 3 guys. One was in next doors garden looking over my fence, and the other two were kneeling down in front of my garage. They saw him and ran off. I made some bits at work, and spent the afternoon beefing up the security, extra locks, and alarm. I have a good hasp and staple on the bootom of the door, cos I heard that the scumbags just bend garage doors up from the bottom and get in that way. The hasp and staple is fine still, but they've pryed the lock open. I now have the hasp and staple on the bottom, and a drop bolt on each side about 500mm up, and a couple of new boron locks, and an alarm. Have I missed anything, does anyone know of a better way of securing it. I haven't got a ground anchor, doesn't seem much point as if theyre in the garage, they've got all the tools there to remove it anyway. just realized- that last statement is sh*t......A ground anchor might buy me enough time to get down the stairs, and dish out some of what the law seems unable to understand.......bludgeoning ! My last house was broken into twice, so I moved, I will quite happily admit that if I find someone in my garden thats not supposed to be there, I will beat the living daylights out of whoever it is, with whatever Ive got. !!!! The good news is, the bike's still there.
  21. If you can send me a drawing preferably cad, I can see what I can do. I regularly use a company that does laser cutting, and they could cut slots, or whatever you want....I was going to get one done with scorpa cut into the front, would probably look great. Not sure if there is a minimum charge at the laser cutters, will find out if need be, might end up a lot more expensive than necessary. When ordering multiples, it's often cheaper to buy the parts, with the holes and what not in it from the laser cutters, already cut to shape, than it is to buy the sheet of ali in the first place.....? All thats needed is to fold/roll.
  22. I ordered parts today, sent them an email first, from the contact page on the new honda spares site, got a reply including a new phone number, ordered the parts over the phone.......job done! Apparently they're pushing the web designer, and he's not listening.
