  1. When everything seems to run in line, it seems as though the wheel is offset slightly, I was wondering i it was the wrong wheel (although I don't think so) or perhaps the swingarm twisted slightly..... I will have to try harder, the bike felt alright before removing the wheel, so it must be alright then. I over-complicate things all the time. I find faults where there are none. Oh my god, I must be turning into the wife!
  2. I think the best name ever given to an alien is ''Christopher Johnson''.....District 9 is good, but that name didn't half make me chuckle..... Oh, and the lead character should win something for his accent. He must have been trained by the master - Jason Statham -
  3. Cheers, that would be great.......for balancing. Like a little A frame.
  4. You lucky B****rd....stop showing off.......
  5. Does anyone have an easy way of aligning the rear wheel, in the past I've just eyed it through, but I can't seem to do that with the scorpa...... For some unknown reason, it seems to be offset. If I line it up with the shock mount it looks as if its turning in towards the right hand peg. I placed a combi square on the outside edge (from the rear) of the swing arm and it measured 75mm to the edge of the rim, but it measured 70mm on the left.....but looks to be running true.... Can somebody please enlighten me. ps. Ive been a welder/fitter for 8 yrs, and a sheet-metal/fabricator for 8yrs, so I'm not entirely clueless....( although I am now a shiny-a***, manager and cad draughtsman so not hands on anymore ) Any help appreciated....
  6. As for the sceeching, make sure theres nothing catching......sounds silly, but my old bike started screeching and it turned out to be the fan barely catching a cable tie !
  7. The wife has already sold everything on ebay, my problem is that she sees me walking out to the garage on a regular basis with a little box, and a big grin....
  8. To quote Red Dwarf, " thats the equivalent of putting your wedding tackle into a lions mouth and flicking its love spuds with a wet towel" Come on, what was they expecting to happen. Could try a new organisation - PETH, ethical treatment of humans.......

    Pegs

I need a set of pegs for the scorpa, and was looking for opinions. The criteria is, they've got to be cheap, and got to be good.......I prefer the large platform ones. I have been looking at the S3 hardrock pegs (are they large), and they seem reasonable at

  14. I managed to cadge a sump plug from a garage round the corner from work so happy days there then. I decided that whilst I was at it, I would remove and clean the air box, only to find even more bolts that where impossible to undo. Had to drill them out and start again......I have replaced with stainless, but not sure if this is the right move as staino is soft as sh*te and easy to strip the head out on a C/S M6 with an allen key. I suppose I will just have to undo them once a week to keep them free..... I feel like removing every bolt from the bike and replacing them all......I know it's the right weather for it.....! The wife and kiddies are beginning to think I live in the garage, and that it must be like narnia when I close the door. They're all banned from there as a mans garage is his refuge, the only place on the property that has peace and tranquility, apart from the times I cant get bolts to undo !!!
  15. Just tried to message you but your inbox is full.......
  16. Just to update, I have finally managed to remove this so called bolt......woo-hoo..... USED THIS extractor , It bites in as you try to undo. Thanks for all the help guys, much appreciated.
  17. Ive just tried to drain the oil, and noticed that Ive drained around 500ml, and only managed to fit in about 150ml. Firstly, I got the bike pretty hot, I then removed the plug from under the shifter, leaned the bike over and left it to drain for 1/2 hour. When no oil was coming from the drain, I then decided to remove the level indicator from under the kick start, and was quite amazed that so much oil came from this after having the drain under the shifter open. With no more oil leaking out, I tried to refill, only to notice I couldn't fit in anywhere near the amount I am supposed to put in...... Does anybody have any suggestions, I know this sounds silly but can they get airlocked, or can they be a pain to refill.
  18. Hi all, I've been meaning to post this for a while now, so here goes.... I seem to be able to find neutral very easily, not that I don't know where it is, but I have never had this before with a trials machine, and thought that was the way it was meant to be so you would find it difficult to hit neutral by accident, and avoid injury. Most Ive been on I get fed-up of trying to find it and sit down, and select it by hand. On the SY, if I dont hold the shifter in position momentarily when going from 1st to 2nd I hit neutral. I'm not complaining, Im just not used to it, and wondering if there may be something wrong. Are the Sy's all like this, or just mine.
  19. M12 isn't a huge thread...... Masso, sorry to seem to be ignoring your plight to drain the oil from the little plug under the shifter, but earlier, someone stated that it doesn't work very well as a drain, and that it would take about 9 days...... I am however, grateful for all input.......so thanks ! When Im done I might see if that guy selling the trike of death will sell the plug for me !
  20. Why has nobody suggested taking the clutch cover off ? It would only take a minute and easy to do, or is there another problem that I don't yet know about ? I tried the chisel, then the vise-grips and no joy.......I usually like a challenge but could do without this one. Its 1-0 to the sump plug.
  21. Lampkins beta dealership......Very helpful. Based in north yorkshire I think, so not too far. clicky here
  22. Hi all. I have just finally got round to changing the gear oil and hey presto.......rounded the plug off ! Armed with the info supplied on here I set about removing the sump guard, and found myself a good six point socket (12mm I think). I reached around the bike (yes I gave it a reach around) so as to pull the ratchet and socket upto the bolt head. One slight careful bit of a turn later and I'm shaking my head in disbelief... The bolt head had nowhere to bend in my six point socket, there is no way it could round off. How wrong was I. Anyway, better luck tomorrow I hope. Does anybody know what thread the plug is cos I might just drill it out. and re-tap.
  23. Can you tell what it is yet....? Seriously, what is it ? I get the feeling that I am not alone in my feeling of contempt for people who see me on my treils bike and ask "the question", IS IT FAST......sorry, but it makes the blood boil....
  24. Every year our '' works do '' consists of a trip to the pub over the road from the bosses house where we all indulge ourselves in as much free beer as the body can handle. If thats not your thing........see you in the new year. Its probably not very 'pc' but it works.
