My favourite trial of the season.
Sadly can't go this year, due to a clash of events.
@ Graham - I can observe on the Saturday though, if you are in need?

Cheers guys,
Puller ordered. Main bearings/seals, plus piston, rings and gaskets on their way too!
Anyone know the paint code for the casings? May as well tart them up while they're off .

Hi All,
My mains are a bit noisy on my 315R (2000 model year). I need a flywheel puller to do the job and can see a 4RT one on the bay for £32...

Is this the same as a 315?? Cheapest 315 one I can find is £45

Many mono's have lost this post, mine included! The case saver have bolts on to the frame lug, above the pivot point for the swing arm (where the guide roller is mounted). You then don't need the broken mounting point.
Hope this helps

Listen to the 'supportive' wife/girlfriend laughing at the rider at 4:00 minutes. I have one of those!

Hi John,
I have a T4 SWB which is near enough the same size. Mine has a 2nd row of proper VW quick-release seats in, in a 2+1 configuration.
I can fit:
One bike in diagonally with all seats in (+ 6 people)
2 bikes with the double seat removed (+ 4 people)
3 bikes in with all rear seats removed (+ 3 people)
Though usually I take out the single rear seat next to the sliding door, leaving 5 seats.
Hope that makes sense!

Hi Magicals fans.
The website is up and running, so I have ordered some springs at last!
Let's hope they turn up.....

Yes, phone number please!
Send me a PM if you don't want to post it on here.

Standard carb is a Dellorto PHBL, dunno if the Keihin is an improvement or not. I'm pretty happy with the standard one myself.
-
I'm after a set of 'Magicals' fork springs for my TY Pinky, but the website has been off for 'maintenance' for at least a month.
Have they gone out of business, or can anyone offer a different explanation?
Cheers, David

Hi Michael,
There are a few things you can do - I did them all and my clutch is good now, smoother - much less snappy, bike starts in gear, etc.
Replace the steel clutch plates with dimpled ones - I used Apico. They aren't too expensive.
Make sure the clutch friction plates are fitted in the correct order as per the workshop manual - mine weren't!!
Put it all back together and fill with Elf HTX740 (BVM can supply it) - expensive but good oil.
It is not too big of a job. Change your ELF regularly, on mine if I find it difficult to select neutral from first, she's ready for an oil change.
Hope this helps!

Hi,
I have V-Mar clamps on my 315 - very robust and good quality. Being a 315, I fitted the clamps only to the standard top yoke, but not an option for a 4RT I know.
I'd recommend them though. Hope this helps.
-
I put V-Mar plates in my 315, very nice. They just up the leverage ratio a bit so you gain some stiffness. Never a bad thing .
I would give the plates a try before spending ££££s on a shock. Other (cheaper) plates are available, I've only tried the M-Mar ones, so can't comment on the rest.
-
I put some V-Mar clamps and fatbars on mine

Nice!

There are lots more on't internet. Happy hunting.

I use rock oil synthetic premix at 80:1, freely available as all the mx'ers use it. Runs and smells great!!
-
Hi Jamie,
I have one on my 315R and it's very nice indeed, with loads of feel and power. You'll need a new brake hose with a banjo fitting as well, good opportunity to fit a nice blingy braided one - well, that's what I did.
Honda CRF ones are the same I think.
-
Hi Serious,
First you need the part numbers from your manual or from here
Then you can order from Sandifords if they still have any left, as they have stopped distributing Monts, or try your local Honda dealer, or order online from this lot in Holland - I have used them before - and you can get prices before you order.
Good luck,
Highscore

Hello Serious,
Get the part numbers from your manual, or from the Apex parts book
Then try your local Honda dealer, or order from Sandifords if they have any stock left, or you can order online from CMS in Holland - I have used them, but before the Pound/Euro rate was crap, so may be expensive now.
Good luck!

Hi All,
Just got my lads (aged 4 and 7) an Oset 16.0. All is going well, but..... the diameter of the grips is M-A-S-S-I-V-E. I can hardly get my hands round them!
Has anyone used any [smaller] alternatives???
Ta, David
-
Hello,
As far as I know you can get all parts via Honda dealers, but Sandifords have a bit more product knowledge i.e. I needed a brake pedal pivot for my 315r and the Sandifords parts man knew a 4RT one would fit and was miles cheaper.
if you want part numbers go here... Apex Mont 315 Parts book
If you want ball park prices go here... CMS Parts
Hope this helps.

Yup,
Apico plates + ELF oil did wonders for mine. After 30 secs. she will not drag at all, start in gear etc, etc
Be warned though, when your bike is perfect you have only yourself to blame!!
