I've a similar spec 300 & have tried a few calming mods too.
I fitted a raga head & tried the low comp insert. This gave spluttery carburation, so the std insert went back in & clean fuelling returned.
It seems that too low a compression will mess the carburation up.
I tried a reed block spacer next. Spacer is from early Pros or TXT, moves the reed block out 5mm or so.
This (with Boyesen reeds) gives a smooth response & clean running.
I tried the Keihin & the Dellorto flatside - both worked very well, but both were too crisp for this pilot.
I've leaned the jetting a little on the std Dellorto.
I've another mod in the pipeline. I'll let you know if this works later.

And the winner is The Addict - it lasted 4 sections....
And that was the "illegal" small plate I fitted after all after all.
The mudguard would have snapped with a proper plate flapping about.
-
My transport manager informs me a "vertical" rear plate is now requied for this weekends East Yorks Two Day.
Here's the legal version:

A surprisingly great event.
Brilliant sections...

Well done the North Berks team.

26mm VHST - ran S32 (or S34) pilot, D37 needle - clip on groove 2 from bottom, 271HE needle jet, 120 or 118 main.
I played with the pilot size & needle clip postions to get best response.
Gave crisp smooth power. (on UK fuel!)
The VHST needs a 300 float jet - otherwise it runs out.
I tuned down the outlet to fit the std GG intake manifold.
Or you need the bigger manifolds as used with Keihin.
I always found the std dellorto too rich at/near idle.
Let me know how you get on,
Cheers, Mike

Definitley try smaller pilot jets & needle clip position before you butcher slides!
Get a range in & a spare few hours for testing...
On my 300 (dellorto) I've gone smaller pilot & droped needle a groove for the humid English summer, it was blubbery low down on std Uk settings.
Much cleaner running now.
& yes I tried Keihins etc, but whilst they carburate superbly - I can't handle the superb power.
I had good results using the VHST on the 250 Pro.
Can advise (VHST) jetting if needed.
-
First off, check jet sizes in carb.
You might be able to tune this out with the pilot screw.
Possibly a de-coke is needed.
-
I've an 09 300. I reckon it's GG's best engine, so smooth & linear.
They are very tune-able too. In both directions - You can get an extra flywheel, low comp head etc for doddery old giffers like me.
Or go to Raga spec & see if you can really hack it!

Cheers, Jordi.
I was thinking of displaying the pics rather than a link..
Nice vids, btw, See you at Reeth.

There are some better pics here:

Sorry I don't have the time right now to link to the exact pics,

Very good, impressed with the clarity of the film on the bigger TVs we have now.
I like the zoom out senic shots of riders on course - gives an idea of where the real struggle is!
However, for me, its spoilt by the music. Not the choice of music - that's mostly stuff I like.
But I'd rather hear the bikes and babbling brooks, as if I were a spectator.
Keep the music for intros etc.
If you ever saw the Trials TV crews coverage of the USA WTC rounds you'll see what I'm on about,
Anyway - it looks good & is a bargain.

Castrol MTX 10/40 is a light non synthetic gear oil.
I've used this in the Pro, TXT & Beta Rev 3's with good results.

If it's only alloy stuck to the surface you could clean it up & get a new piston.
Depending on the age of bike - the bore could be worn anyway, so you may as well get it replated.
However if the hard plating of the barrel is damaged a re-plate is needed with a new piston.

The Pamp's front wheel is offset as std, for some reason. The thicker "washer" is the wheel spacer.
The caliper is on a sliding mount - if this binds you get the symptoms described!
Wiggle/hit caliper!
You could re-centre wheel with spoke adjustment.
