I had the same trouble with mine, after getting frustrated to the point of exploding I fitted a tube.
-
Ok after chcking and double checking everything I decided to spend some more money on a Rectifier and it now runs fine Thanks for all the advice and mesages. Cheers Phil

Bit of an update, the stator was said to be faulty and has been rewound so when its fitted back on the bike I will le you all know if it runs, fingers crossed
-
Thanks for the heads up I'll be sure to try the regulator next if the stator's not at fault. I went for the stator due to the lack of output from it so fingers crossed I was right when it returns this week.
-
Already check those parts out and both were fine. Cheers
-
Stator is going away next week I'll update you when its back.
-
Yeah did it at source as you say. Yellow wire from the stator to the regulator.
-
Bit of an update, Checked the stator for any kind of output and when the engine is kicked over I get between 2 and 5 volts from it. So is that enough ?

Will do Paul, for reference what year is your mates 300, and what ignition system has it mine 2004 Ducati type ignition

I have a 2004 Txt Pro 280 and for no reason the engine died mid section and would not restart, Suspecting the Spark plug I changed that and still no spark. So Kill switch disconnected No spark, wiring all good no corosion on earths or multi plugs. So any one had the same problem ? or is there any body in the Sheffield area that has the same Model of bike that would be willing to try my CDI and Regulator on thier bike to check mine. I suspect its the Stator but not sure if this is a common fault or not. Help and ideas please.

Got a pair of these boots from santa, they are end of line boots and a new version is out soon, but I think great value for money, comfy to start with new so should get better with use.

Another good tip is to pull the clutch lever in and hold it with a cable tie to the bars, this seperates the clutch plates and allows the dirty oil to run out from between them. I usually do this and let it drain overnight if possible.
