I don't know where you are located but GGuk have everything. as well as the O-rings
-
This is not a good pic but the kit was for my 2010 bike that got stolen before putting it on. The bike here is an 04.
-
This kit should fit your bike TXT-Edition-2000-2003 from express signs
I have used one of their kits on mine.
-
Yep,
I have seen a reversible hub but when I asked the rider he didn't know who made it as it was on the bike when he got it.
-
The parts cat' only lists one middle section so from that I would say it is compatible. It is a silencer with some sort of packing in it but it is all welded up so I have not seen inside. The outlet size is the same.
-
You are right, the shafts are supposed to be harder.
This is cut & pasted from the Tech Bulletin;
Water Pump information, Pro 2002~07:
Beginning in 2004, there are three changes to the waterpump.
1 The center shaft has a new heat treatment. The part number remains the same.
2 The impeller is made of a new material. The part number remains the same.
3 The outer bushing (drain cap) is made of a new alloy. It has a much longer life than the original model. The new cap uses a “Torx” bit for removal, and installation. The original one used an Allen wrench. (See photo) The part number remains the same.

Best to sort it properly, You may see yourself waiting at a section next to the unlucky buyer as posted above 'trials is a small world'
When you sell again In the future it's good to hear people commend you by recommending your bikes as well looked after to other buyers
Good reputation is earned over time but can be lost in seconds.

I'm another one for ATF Dex III, I've never used anything else.
Brand name not so important its the spec Dex III to look for.
Castrol, Comma, Carlube, Halfords own, etc
-
ATF will be fine, it's the fully synthetic that has caused the fibre material to swell and debond from the plates.
Mine drags a bit and feels more progressive and neutral can only be found by using a hand on the shifter.
Clutch burning yes that is how you do it but I've never done this so I can't comment..
-
Mine took about six weeks but it was the soft tissue and torn membranes between the ribs that still hurt for about twelve weeks.
Drink more Guinness it may not help but I couldn't do much else.
More of this and none of this
-
I've recently bought my second pair.
-
The way it was described to me was that spring is slightly thinner and the plate is machined to accommodate it.
I would like to make the clutch lighter on my 04 by just changing the spring and ignore what they told me.
Their theory sounded plausible but I doubt it would cause a great problem.
-
Fluid type wont make any difference to lightness, they changed to mineral when some bikes leaked brake fluid into the trans oil.
I was told by Gasser that if you change the spring to 06 you also need to change the retaining ring to 06 as a matched pair because it would have the effect of changing the measurement of the clutch fingers. consequently it wouldn't be as light as an OEM 06 clutch.

ACU license? Do I need one before I do a trial? Or can I just get a day one just to start?
Licence rules! (ACU)
It's called a registration and costs £10. they run from 1st Jan to 31st Dec.
They don't do one day tickets in Trials like in they do for Enduro.
You have to be a member of an ACU club and then they will give you a unique code and then you can apply for one.
Some clubs will let you ride if you turn up and join their club, with a fully completed application form in a paid envelope so they can endorse it and then they should post it.
They can be renewed online but if it's your first one you will need to attach a passport photo to the form post it,
Here's a link to the application form;

Manchester 17 dead easy trials are really are easy they are aimed towards getting kiddies started.
I've not seen a Macc dead easy trial so I have no comment but someone on here I'm sure will be able to.
There is a charity event at Heaton house farm on 26th Aug that all the local clubs organise and this would be a very good choice.
-
Brilliant ! You're not daft
-
''...............well something would be fresh. ''
Hmm, I think I understand where your / it's coming from.
The flow I think should be drawn from the helmet so the air stays ambient instead of the heat from the fan motor making your helmet hotter
I look fwd to your next comment Zippy!
-
Ventilation is air movement, if you are not moving then probably no ventilation.
Here's an idea!!
A fan unit attached to something like a wait belt and an air duct to the helmet feeding/drawing sounds quite plausible
-
Ben,
Not many at your age would even think of stripping an engine to fix it.
Well done Sir!
-
Welcome to TC. Don't be disheartened you will find out everything on here. I am a Gasgas owner so cant help you much with Beta specific issues.
You need to find a local club and ride with people, You don't say where you're located so have a look on the ACU website for the club finder and see which is closest to you.
Trials is good fun I'm sure you will agree.
Rick.
-
I recon the shape looks more like Krighton off Red Dwarf
-
I agree @ 100:1 it's hardly worth putting it in at all.
-
Very pleased with my Airoh. any helmet can get hot because polystyrene is heat insulation and so needs vents (more the better) I would buy the same again!
I previously had a 'Shiro' with vent holes and I cut the holes in the polystyrene to make them bigger but without airflow they don't work.
It was a cheap helmet with rubbish foam padding that just gets sodden and then it runs down your face and back of your neck. Yuk.

Fully Synthetic oil at 70 or 75 to 1 is what most people run. Some riders in USA run up to 100:1
The book says 2% which is 50:1 it must be another mistake. I tried this when I got my first Pro and it just kept oiling up every 10 min.
-
The manual is wrong, I put 380ml in mine.
