Okey, the bike finally starts with new gasoline ++ The exhaust is also cleaned properly, will repack the silencer when I get some minutes to spare. But it still coughs and won't go right. Damn, starting to get tired of this.
-
Weird, I really need to recalculate the Gasoline-Oil mixture then Well, I'll try again in the weekend with fresh new fuel... Sparkplugs, what to buy?
-
Thanks for nice answers! When I fill my spare-can with gasoline I normally fill it up with 8 litres, then I'll put about 0,4litres of oil in there. I think atleast it was 0,4. Maybe 0,5? Would this be too much oil? And yeas, the carb is cleaned Which side is the flywheel on(probably a dumb question, but oh well...)? I am buying a new plug for it, which one would suit the bike best? And then again, thanks for all the help!

Haven't done much lately due to several minus degrees the last few months... But I've removed te first bit of the exhaust and cleaned it inside, it's quite nice now. No restrictions there at all... I thought I should open the rear silencer at the same time, but it seems like it's pop-nailed together. Would be smart to repack it perhaps? Even though the exhaust is nice and open now the bike won't start at all, totally dead. Won't even go near starting, maybe try a new plug agaaaaaaaaaain?? Would someone reccomend me a great plug for this bike? And I am running a mixture of about 8% oil in the 95 gasoline, is that okey? Cheers guys, Sondre...!

Hmm, thanks for so many good answers! I will def try to clean the exhaust then, especcially the first part after the sylinder. I talked recently with a local mechanic and he thought that maybe the engine seal which stops the cooling water coming thru. Don't know what it's called in english, sorry! But then again, it hasn't used much or any water at all in my hands...

Hey all, I am seriously considering starting an own thread with all the problems I'm getting with this bike... Seems like it's no end! ;P Well, I'm still on a 1997 GG Fortuna 270cc. Today I drove down the store and up again two times, each way is approx 800m or something. One thing I noticed was that the bike would sort of skip or cough when riding on low rpm. It seems like it goes better on higher rpms... Serious skipping if you understand. It feels like it goes normally but then it stops and then it goes again, stop, go, stop,,, go........... So on my last turn home I shifted down a gear and drove on quite high speed and rpm. One thing I noticed when stopping it at home was the smoke coming out of the exhaust! Big masses of grey/white smoke... Wouldn't stop either. Just continued for a lill'while :/ I'm thinking pistonrings, I KNOW they should've been changed for maybe 200-300 hours ago =P

I'm not really sure actually, it was totally full of dirt and dirty oil. So we removed everything and filled it with DIESEL actually =P hehe, got all the dirt out of it and then dried it properly and then we filled about 3,5 dl with fresh new fork oil on each forkleg... Works damn good now and feels much smoother, but does anyone know how much oil each leg really needs?
-
Managed to get it fixed!
-
I've removed every damn screw/bolt on the forkleg now and gotten it allmost off... It feels like it's totally stuck about 2-4 cm before it falls off :/ I've hammered for several minutes now... Damn
-
I see that it's the left forkleg which is stuck.. How is it reccomended to tear these down? =)

Cheers! Got some really good tips that I can try now, will try it within a few days!

Yo! Was coming home for the weekend and thought I should practise stoppies and wheelies for a while, just small fun tricks which is good to know-how properly! One thing I noticed after a few minutes was that the suspension fork at the front was sorta stuck when I used it. I kinda had to drag it up again, this got worse and worse while riding... It ended up with me riding the bike like a bike-trial with a rigid fork up front. Quite hard work but I can almost say everybody should try it, fun!! So now the bike stands in the shed and waits on me to start work on it. But I thought I should ask here first, cos' I know it leaks a little oil... So do you guys think it's empty of fuel and those rubber-things at the end of the shocks has dried and probably turned or something like that? Sorry for the bad english =P Edit: Damn forgot to mention which bike this is all about: '97 GG Fortuna 270cc Would appreciate tricks and tips...!! Cheers, Sondre

Hey! On my '97 GG Fortuna I find it abit frustrating that my rearbrake overheats when I drive for a longer distance. I do not have this problem when riding normals trials and such slow riding.... Anyone else having this problem? Probably needing a rep.set or something? Thanks for any tips regarding this problem.. Cheers, Sondre

Tried that! Still no luck... But going to put it into a workshop tomorrow, hopefully they'll make it work allright!!

Hi all, I recently bought myself a new toy... A 1997 GasGas Fortuna 270ccm Starts on first kick everytime and is a blast to drive...! BUT, I have just changed the brakepads and thought I should replace the old brakefluid. I am currently in the process of doing just that atm but things wont go my way... No matter how long I pump and bleed the lever, the fluid will not build pressure!! Seems like the fluid doesn't wanna come to the caliper. Any tips? I'm so sick of not beeing able to use it! :S I'm bleeding the clutch aswell atm, I pump approx 5-6 times, keep the lever in, opens the valve, closes the valve, repeat. No matter what the clutch just wont work right.. Anyone been in the same situation? Will post some pictures tomorrow, thanks for now. Cheers, Sondre..!
