  1. Funny Really as My Son has tried the Jotagas and reckons it has more power than the 300 Gas Gas. A local rider also had the 2012 and thought the 2013 300 a bit too much for him. Probably a 250 might be the better compromise.
  2. Received a call early this morning that the Trial is off due to the Weather.
  3. Chris has the 2011 300 and White Sidi's and he does not have a problem. Me being about 5 inches shorter does have a problem.
  4. Water can get in the top flap depending on the seal on it. I tend to use Bath Sealant around the flap as it stop anything coming in that way. Many tape around it. Could be worth trying. There usually is a little bit in the bottom of the Airbox but it tends to just be in the corner.
  5. Mainly Tweaked ECU to setr the power to that Caba is happy with. I should imagine some parts are made from more "exotic" materials as well.
  6. In that Case it will Probably be "Helicopter Heroes". I'll keep on Breakfast for a week before giving up.
  7. Only the Yamaha TY50P comes to mind as being road capable.
  8. Not as yet. As soon As I spot it I'll post. It could be Saturday as they run the Mike Bushell "Try a sport" thing then.
  9. I have a Humax so will put "Breakfast" on Series link. At 8x Speed I should be able to find it when it appears.
  10. Local Trials rider has on Facebook that BBC Breakfast TV is at a Trial Tomorrow? No idea if it's true. But will be recording them to see.
  11. If it's the Quarry I know about it's even worse than that!! ROAD LEGAL Enduro Bikes turned up to watch the Trial's bikes practising. They didn't actually use the Quarry. They LEGALLY went up and down the Local road. A local Complained about the Noise and the Police now move on Users despite it being Private land and the Noise being made by Legal road bikes. In this case the Police find it easier to act against the innocent as the WORK involved in trying to prosecute the Enduro riders would be pointless.
  12. So looks like the number of rounds for the C & D Championship is a bit much. After the ACU said they would try and make things "easier" for parents they come up with 8 rounds in 7 months!!!! That might sound OK but 3 of those are in September!! Even worse for any competitor south of Watford 6 of them are in the North. The A&B at least has the Rounds spread around datewise even though most are northern based. This is the Problem. The EXPENSE of these rounds. The Petrol, Diesel, Parts and Accommodation incurred means many potential Entrants are already put off. It cost me over £300 a round 4 years ago. That was averaging it out between the Close and Distant rounds. I expect it will be over £500 each without adding in the cost of the Bike and Van to carry it. Yet instead of addressing that issue they Fiddle with the rules expecting more bikes to enter. Not with these fixtures they won't.
  13. We had similar troubles on a Gas Gas. Eventually traced to a faulty Woodruff key. Might be just worth checking if it's easy access.
  14. You must haver been Unlucky as Swaine usually has a couple of lads practising. However I can't recommend BUMPY enough and as you discovered they are plenty of riders young and old ready to help out!!
  15. I'd say the Techno will feel like a lump of lead compared to a REV3 or Sherco. I'm also puzzled about using fourth gear? Great if you are going across moors or have a long run up a hill but unless the Sprockets are set for it not really usable in a Trial. If I were you go for the best condition bike and look at what the riders in your area prefer. That should give you an idea of which bike is better. If you still want to go older then the Montesa 315R is usually a good bet. Again though buy on condition. Sandifords still have lots of spares as well so it should be good for a number of years
  16. TrialsUK have an offer on Hebo TR boots. Over £100 off.

    Cloudy Gear Oil

I'd also check one other thing. The Breather tube. On ours after the breather "nipple" was broken I noticed it bubbled a lot. On checking the tube connected to the nipple it had a "hole" in it. I snipped some off the bottom and the problem went away.
  18. No Prices but they should be in the UK soon.
  19. Pics all over the web but they are a bit hazy so I'll just put up the description. 1.-SWING ARM WITH CHAIN TENSIONER AT INTERIOR SIDE 2.-NEW RADIATOR 3.-NEW HEAD CYLINDER 4.-NEW FUEL TANK 5.-NEW LINK 1 AND NEW REAR SHOCK REIGER 2 WAYS 6.-HIDRIA IGNITION SYSTEM (specific mapping for keihin) 7.-MAPPING SWITCH INTEGRATED IN LATERAL PLASTIC COVER
  20. Lot's of clubs in the area. Just join those that run the Trials for you. West Leeds Horsforth, Spen Valley, Huddersfield Falcons, Bradford, Yeadon Guiseley are all close and run Novice Beginner Trials to cut your teeth on. Barnsley, Eboracum, Ripon are a little further afield but again do some good Novice Beginner events. I'd use BUMPY to get some experience and confidence and then start doing the Novice Beginners in the New Year. Usually the first are at Deer Park Bingley and it depends which club that uses it gets their event in first. As for the Bike. Either would do the job well. The Gasser has a lighter feel while the Beta feels more planted. It's all in which you feel more comfortable riding so getting out on them will tell you which is for you.
  21. The price of the OSET'S and Mecatechno's is I think realistic. Both companies WANT to be there when it needs fixing and do offer guarantee's. On the other hand most of the Chinese pieces of crap fall to bits and have no back up. Yes they are cheap but it's pretty7 much hope over expectation whether they work or not.
  22. You know it's amazing how many people ignore the kids on OSET's and Mecatechno's. That area where the bikes are reasonably priced and even Single Mum's can get there kids out has grown a lot over the last five years. The Stick in the Muds who only look at Adult riders have to remember who are the next generation. The main makers of bikes ignore those kids at their peril. For years they only supplied what are to be honest pretty crappy and under developed Autos. When Beta actually produced the REV50 we suddenly had a replacement for the TY80! We joined up at the time and I had hell on to find a bike for my lad to actually compete on and then there they were!!! The Kids could not ride Trials because many clubs ignore them. At the time Yorkshire Centre clubs were trying hard to get more Small Wheelers and they still do. It's a shame many of the "old stagers" on here still don't seem to have any idea about them.
  23. I suppose telling a scotsman to pay more money for something is always a controversial subject but perhaps they'd like a view from south of the border. The ACU "Licence" currently costs £10. However an entry in a Trial in the Yorkshire centre for adults is usually £15 for a club trial and £17 or £20 for a Centre.
  24. Won't be going if it does. The "No-Stop" BTC round we saw was pretty tedious and having spoken to a couple of riders at another round the "crowds" didn't turn out. Without the spectators I doubt Nord Vue or any other World Trial would be viable.
  25. Last ones we have been to everybody just sets off when they are ready as normal.
