  1. Michelin X-Lite Very good all round but expensive. Stays on rim but not good on the Long Trials where the lighter construction seems to cause problems. Can have it as low as 3psi with no problems Michelin X11 Again very Good all round as per X-lite but seems more rugged and lasts longer . Probably down to slightly heavier construction. IRC Very Good in Mud OK on rocks. Does not like being below 4psi and newer ones seem to lose air on big impacts. Dunlop 801 Seems to be a great distance tyre. Very resistant to coming off the rim and punctures. Mainly Used by many on the SSDT and Scott. Seems to have been changed about 2 years ago and the latest one isn't as long lasting. Pirelli Used once and nobody keeps them on. Definitely not a Trials Tyre.
  2. Have you Tried Beta-UK? they usually have them. If Not get the latest ones They haven't changed the design since they came out.
  3. General opinion in West York's tips to "Would buy another" The majority are very reliable bikes. I have seen issues with the Gearbox but like the Gas Gas Pro's they don't like the lever being bashed. There have been one or two instances of the Box "locking" on a gear but again I have heard of other bikes doing that. Main thing most have found a bind is the Air filter. The 2013 one is supposedly a lot better. Only thing is that most are "clubman" bikes. Nobody who does the "hard" sections has really got hold of one yet and wrung it's neck.

They do have a website and it has a picture of the current Clipic CJ80R for which parts are available. see www.clipic.com

There was a recent thread in the General Trials Forum. Probably worth having a look. If it's the same bike I think the guy decided not to continue as the parts were difficult to source. Andy at Pennine Trialsport is probably your best bet on it.
  6. Cannot agree with racey. The main problem I have found is that it can be difficult to find some Entry forms. You CAN send one "on spec" but many events have differing entry fees even within the same championship and getting them back can be problematic. In one case I entered my son for a Youth round at Scarborough. The entry when they got it was completely shredded along with the cheque. The club was extremely diligent and "held" and entry for us while I got a "New" cheque to them. However in some cases even finding out you have an entry is difficult and in some cases I have been setting things to go to find we hadn't got one. That's annoying and expensive. Then there are circumstances such as one we found ourselves in where clubs sending out Postal invitations to Trials were getting them though to us but somewhere along the line the Email address had been sent out wrong. We got invited to half the Trials and had to enquire where the rest were. It wasn't until one of them replied that I realised what had happened and we nearly missed a few due to that.
  7. At the Moment "Closing dates" are of little value. We don't have enough riders out there! I'd support a limit ON RIDERS but with the previso that until that limit is reached entries will be accepted even if it is with a "penalty" with regard to the entry fee.
  8. They will be using Michelin Lights but they don't have to buy them grnerally. For those of us that do the X11 is as good just not as light.
  9. Unfortunately there isn't a picture but they do fit!!! http://www.trialsuk.co.uk/products/trick-bits-gas-gas-txt-pro-radiator-side-covers
  10. Well Ossa employed Fajardo. I suspect they don't have "BIG" money so Bou, Raga and Cabastany even if contracts were not already in place would be out of reach. Fuji is contracted but is coming to the end of his career and Montesa seem puzzled as to who to replace him with. I doubt OSSA would go back to Fajardo he would see that as being burnt twice so where does that leave them. I'd say Pol Tarres will get a shot on the JTG in the Worlds next year and Oliveras will be on the OSSA. I don't see any upcoming Juniors being an option for the factories. If Beta want to retain two riders that leaves DIbs, Jack Challoner and Brown. I don't see Wiggy wanting to move off the Gas Gas until he is really back on form and Jack Shepherd falls into the Junior category at the moment.
  11. Sounds like Fajardo or more likely certain Spanish Media "Sour Grapes" to me. Trials isn't that easy to ride "team orders" beyond getting your teammate to try the section first. Fuji seems to do that for Bou these days. Dibs was in front and rode the sections better than Fajardo. It's more a case of Fajardo not being able to ride at that level for two days. Also given Dibs contract was signed first and he has support from Beta UK I doubt that Beta COULD implement team orders. That could change given contract renewal is coming up. It has to be pointed out that the top 6 or 7 riders are pretty set at the moment. Bou rarely fails, Raga and Cabestany generally are the ones to get the next places. That leaves Fajardo as more consistant but still fighting with the Brits and occasionally Oliveras over the remaining places. Ossa could look at Dibs as a rider that would consistantly get them a top five and the same could be said of Jotagas. The riders coming up from the Junior series are not picked up until they have proved they can the Championship or have to fund themselves. It has to be said that the Spanish Federation do help but they don't get very long before the funding goes. Oliveras is a case in point. He gave up and got the OSSA ride as he was the only rider about when Fajardo jumped ship, (literally he was employed by OSSA on the technical side).
  12. Usually OK, might be a bit "Flatter" than usual but unless you are "flat out" everywhere you will not see the difference.
  13. Front is usually OK so concentrate on the rear. I'd go IRC or Michelin X11. The IRC will need more pressure in it though. Dunlops tend to third choice especially where you are doing LONG trials like the SSDT, Reeth or the Scott. You never see Pirelli's on a Trials bike they seem to be aimed at the Trail Market.
  14. Not sure on that. At least one of them now Runs a Sierra Cosworth and a Lancer Evo "Drift" car. Most are busy earning cash and spending it on wine women and song though!
  15. My Son is 20 and still competes along with a few of his mates. Many of those he used to compete against have left the sport though. I have a Youth Program from a few years ago when he was B class and you'd probably only see a couple of them competing these days.
  16. Pretty much as Andy and slack said. The only stumbling block is if the club request you don't because the land owner doesn't want it. It's the only legal block and it doesn't apply if you shoot from Public land. Otherwise I avoid the Junior members unless I know the Dad's or Mum's.
  17. To be Held at Emmotts just outside of Silsden on Sunday the 22nd of July. Three Courses for all classes Adult and Youth along with the usual Conducted course for Small wheel and Electric Bikes. Start time is 11am and the weather is looking good for the Weekend!
  18. You'd probably be fine until it was noticed. Then I think many clubs would be wary about letting you ride. Yet again why? No performance advantage and you'll wear out the chain, swing arm and your boots faster. Most riders tend to go the other way and fit a Bigger Guard.
  19. Probably However it would fail Scrutineering as it is not only there to stop your Swing arm wearing away but to stop the chain wearing away your boot/leg. More to the point Why??
  20. For those who haven't checked the Update on the News story the weather has caused problems with the ground conditions and hence the event is off.
  21. The Trials to be run at Ian's Rocks will start at 12 noon for the Small Wheels and Electric Bikes followed by the Main Trial at 2pm. Ian's Rocks is off the A59 Harrogate to Skipton road at Blubberhouses. From the A59 take the Hardisty Hill turnoff opposite the Fewston Reservoir and continue up the Hill until you come to Menwith Hill Road. Turn and follow flags from there.
  22. Following the successful running of the E-Class trial at Brimham last year Yeadon Guiseley will be running a round of the E-class at Addingham this year on the day before the Mackenzie national at 10am. Overnight Camping will be available. Contact Caroline Sandiford on 01706 230396 or 07802 572024 or email Sales@jimsandiford.co.uk
  23. You sound a barrel of laughs. I will first remind you that Motorsport is dangerous and as a spectator you need to be careful. And yes riders will do "stunts" and practice obstacles not marked especially if they have had a problem in a section or feel they need a quick boost to their confidence. Providing that the parents stop them once the meeting is over it is acceptable to most clubs unless the landowner specifies otherwise and usually that means areas are fenced off and observers in that area have been warned to stop riding there. I also as an observer have had to "move" spectators who seem to think standing in a section where the bikes go is acceptable. I also have had to follow people who wander in front of the bikes between sections. As it stands Public liability insurance is in place just in case and is part of the much derided ACU contribution that is part of the entry fee.
  24. Yep works really well. I bought a DID a couple of years ago so forgot this. Still will not stop some tyres going down but they stay pressured longer.
