  1. So let's work out who is running what rules in 2012. Yorkshire Centre Trials Championship and Group TSR22B No-Stop Yorkshire Centre Clubs TSR22A Barnsley, Bradford, Horsforth, Huddersfield Falcons, Spen Valley and West Leeds. TSR22B Bumpy, Hillsborough, Richmond, Ripon, Stocksbridge, Wetherby and Yeadon Guiseley. Ilkley do not run Club Trials but did run to TSR22B in their Centre Events. So what is your club centre running??
  2. It's a Trophy Trial at Telfit? No timings and no regs published but if anybody is interested there is a 150 rider limit. Enquires via Richmond's website. It is not listed as a Championship Trial by the Yorkshire Centre.
  3. In case you haven't noticed. I don't actually ride.... I run YG's Website, collet the clubs championship scores, Observe and maintain and pay for my SON to ride. Hence stop whinging about giving time up!! I may not spend time laying out course but I do give up time for the sport!
  4. Are "Feetup" in Seamer still going or is that why you are asking??
  5. I'm not the one trying to force "All" riders to ride to rules they don't want to.........
  6. I'm corrected. You can even ride a 300........
  7. If you want to compete with a 250 you need to be aged 17. At 14 and 15 you cannot ride Trials unless you are on a 125 due to insurance implications for the clubs. To clear up the confusion Once a youth reaches 16 they can switch to a bike over 125 even if they have not completed the full year. However Championships usually rule that once you have switched you cannot go back to a 125. Corrected.
  8. Gas Gas and Beta tend to preferred in these parts, (West Yorkshire). Sherco not doing so well. Ossa have a few converts. Scorpa not about at all.
  9. Well no other Yorkshire club has moved to "No-Stop". Not enough members want it. However it seems the hysteria continues amongst the "older" set in the Yorkshire centre who now want to force all Centre Trials to "No-Stop"

    Sorry, but...

When we had one I think it was 9 front 48 rear for a 125. It did come from the factory with those sprockets fitted. As for Gearbox oil about 450ml of Dexron 2 or 3 seems to be the favourite although I am trying the Plutoline Nano-Tech stuff to see what we think.
  11. Early Beta REV3 2001 on would fall into your budget. Early 2000's Sherco would also do the job. If you can find a good 315R Montesa they are hard to beat. Built to take the knocks and still competitive in the right hands.
  12. Probably not. It may be too early for the Leeds Arena, I can see having two arena's competing for business would mean that Neil and Martin could be looking to see if the competition could being them benefits.
  13. Hopefully the Leeds Arena will have better seating when it opens. Might be worth Neil and Martin having a look????
  14. Unfortunately when the stewards won't let you stand up you can't. Mind try standing at a Premier League ground!!!
  15. Having "suffered" at the Indoor trial seats and spacing that would make Ryanair blush, I can only hope the Leeds Arena is better. My Legs and back have only just recovered from the "crush" that is Sheffield. Are Other's better than Sheffield???
  16. Looks like one of the roads to Sidmouth has roadworks with a 17-mile detour to get around a 75 yard stretch of the A375!!!! I don't think many would use the route but it could impact on your journey. It SHOULD be completed before the Ottery St Mary Round But I'd check just in case.
  17. Two Club trials to warm you up next weekend, (14th/15th Jan). Funnily enough either side of Bingley. Spen Valley running at Harden Moor on Saturday at 1PM. Always a great course especially if you like Rocks!!! Then Horsforth running at 11am on Sunday at Deer Park. That should get you going a bit!!!
  18. They are quite robust animals but it sounds like they have been sat discharged for too long. I'd contact a nearby dealer and see if they can help. TrialsUK are one of the biggest but OSET have dealers throughout the Country.
  19. In this case yes I did pick up on this particular observer as one who "prefers" to mark "No-Stop" and has vehemently supported riding and marking in this manner. If they can't do it who can?? And as for riding a Stop and watching one rider who made a mess of ONE section. Let's have a look around and see who scrabbled though sitting on the bike taking ages to paddle round but who gets a three because the bike wheels are moving even if the bike isn't?? Equally fair to pick up, equally boring to watch and equally time wasting. Probably ruins the line the next rider had picked as well.
  20. Watched a No-Stop with a "No-Stop" die hard observing. He did not give 5's were he should have!!!! As for dummies how many No-Stoppers here seem to go 180 over 120 at any criticism of No-Stop. I'll state it again. A Trial can be either when "Properly" set. Too many "No-Stop" are not "Properly set" and too many do not "Properly Mark" them. I'll also state something else controversial. All Trials are Boring to watch. Stick at a section and the best riders all ride it pretty much the same. That's not interesting. But that's not the point. At BTC and World level the interest is watching and FOLLOWING a rider. Same as it is for many Motorsports. I defy you to sit at a corner and be enthralled by every driver in a WTCC or BTCC race. It's a case of economics not enough people have the money to compete even in a "cheap" sport like Trials.
  21. And there's the problem. Too much US and no future. There is no future with the Current riders. The Youths the OP derides are the future. In fact the OP is exactly the sort of rider who causes the problems. They have no investment in the sport UNLESS they agree with it. Post of the year? more like if he stays a year I'll be surprised!!!!
  22. At Post Hill at 11am. Butty Van on Site!!!!!!
  23. There is a competition within the Centre Championship for the clubs as well, I'm surprised you aren't aware of it. It's not My obsession to be honest but the riders at the clubs do take it seriously. The standings are Here. It hadn't been updated prior to this posting though.
  24. I was watching the sections following my lad around. We don't normally do no-stop but he's been ill and wanted to ride. I don't think it would be fair to judge the rules one way or another on this Trial. It was pretty snowy on the ground and roads. The Ground conditions varied from Frozen to muddy and slippy. The sections running away from the Start area caught a few riders. The conditions changed as the sun moved round. this also affected the sections 7 to 9 across the private road whereas 10 to 20 were sheltered under the trees so slippy mud and streams ruled. I witnessed one poor lad do a complete 360 on the road between 9 and 10. Would have made a great "Framed" clip. If that had been 10 mins earlier he would have been fine. I also thought that the sections were not bad for a no-stop with the odd exception where a flag was a little "tight" on a turn after full blown blasts up a vertical bank. Dan Thorpe got section 2 all wrong on the first lap and failed to make the climb and I think that was because the better riders hung back a bit and a "bad" line got cut in. Crosser was also the victim of some dodgy marking where the observer marked clean then changed her mind after a Spectator intervened. I have always been of the opinion that if you marked it you keep it unless the CofC intervenes. You have to rely on your own view. Overall it was a bit "easy" for the good lads. A dodgy rock or hole in one place costing you the Trial as there was nowhere to make those marks up. For the Centre Hard course riders it was a good trial with just enough to challenge them. For my lad it was a good workout after a couple of months of not being able to get to the end of a Trial. The fact that Yeadon Guiseley and Bradford were slugging it out for the Centre Championship gave it some bite as well. On that front for those of us that do the Club Standings could we have a Version of the results with the Clubs on??
  25. Could well be. I wish they had been around 15 years ago. It's definitely the way the sport will grow.
