  1. The Former frontman of Be-Bop Deluxe and prolific issuer of albums finally gets a Concert Video!!! I don't think many clips exist of Bill fronting any of his many bands so when ITV studios turned up asking Bill for a performance recording most of Bill's fans were on tenterhooks to see and hear the result. I watched and listened in LPCM Stereo but there is a DTS 5.1 mix also available. Bill did have reservations about the quality of the recording. He should not worry. First impressions are that the Stereo mix is very clear and very dynamic. The actual Stereo "effect" is very good and mimics the wide separation of the band on stage. Kudos to Bill and John Spence on that. It's as good a "live" performance as I have heard on DVD easily seeing off more expensive productions. So no problems at with the audio quality and, on my copy no Problems with "A Dream for Ian" or "For Stuart" which one viewer has had a problem with. I listened to it via my Hi Fi setup so preferred the Stereo mix and it would work as a live album the quality is that good. The Picture quality is good and I felt it seemed to have been shot and edited pretty well. It does come across as very intimate, as Bill says, almost "erotic" but given what the production company were aiming for, it works!!! You can tell Bill has a few problems with the Monitors and does miss a few lyrics but no more than some other "live" performances I have seen. The Main Tracks on the DVD include what many would consider Bill's Hits from the 70's onward as well as his newer work. The Four track "solo" section is well worth listening to as a snap shot of Bill's latest work as well as his command of his instruments. All in all a "must have" DVD if you are a Bill Nelson/Be Bop Deluxe fan.
  2. That would be the Four Stroke Scorpa. They are pretty rugged but even with the Hydraulic conversion the clutch is not that "tactile". If it's just to mess around then it could be okay if a bit heavy.
  3. Trialsuk have a 2004 REV50 for
  4. Only "Issue" I know of is that the Air filter is awkward to get out. Aside from that I know two lads with them quite well and they both think highly of them!!
  5. Wetherby Have a Website!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! Hang on a pigs just flown by the window
  6. It depends on the level your son is at? Can he ride a bike already? Does he have experience of gears and also do you have access to practice land? If he is just starting then the OSET may be the better route to take until He has the confidence to "do" obsticles. Then look at Petrol bikes.
  7. Miles away but I can say that if the SCORPA is a "blue" one it'll have the Yamaha TY250 engine. As well as being ideal for what you want to do spares should be easy for the engine. Most of the rest of the bike should use pretty generic parts. Just don't break the frame!!
  8. To be held at Emmotts just outside Silsden start at 11:00am. Sections are in and around a rocky stream. All Adult and Youth Classes on Hard 50/50 and clubmans courses.Small Wheels will as usual be running on a separate course. For those needing directions to The Venue you need to go to Silsden via the A628 from Keighley/Skipton or the A65 from Ilkley/Skipton. Take the Main road (A6034) into Silsden. The Road to the Venue is off the 6034 (Silsden/Keighley/Bolton Road) and is called Clog Bridge. This is opposite the Bridal Wear shop. This Road goes past the Toyota Dealership and changes name as it leaves Silsden to Holden Lane. Continue along this road carefully and the Venue car park is up the Hill on the Left.
  9. It depends. Some riders really "take" to the 4T others don't. If you can ride a few to see how you get on I'd say you should be guided by that.
  10. The Main Difference is the Way the power is delivered. 2T's have a softer more linear power delivery because they "fire" more often. The "pulse" as the engine fires cna be modulated better as it does it more often. A 4T tends to be a bit more "ragged" as the bigger gaps between the "firings" take away the smoothness. Power and Torque tend to be comparable and 2t's gain rev's quicker which can mean you need to be quicker to react on the throttle, this is a strength of the 4T where the "spinup" is slower and suited to a true "no-stop" style. This is of course relative and a good rider can work with both and have a good day at a Trial.
  11. As well as the third body part of a "park" has been closed off.
  12. Thankfully no flags found near the bodies.... Bodies found
  13. Check the Site Sponsors such as TrialsUK and Sandifords. Also if you check the Websites of the Importers they have a list of UK Dealers usually with their Websites.
  14. I think the "Cargo" van is known in the UK as the "Doblo". I have to admit I haven't seen many at trials, it is bigger than the Little Peugoet/Citroen van so should fit a bike in. The Connect should be ok as it is bigger than the Vauxhall/Opel Combo which easily takes a bike.
  15. Not a lot more to say. Considering the reports are that she had been battling cancer for years she certainly didn't show it and to me and to Doctor Who/Sarah Jane fans it's totally unexpected. RIP
  16. Gas Gas recommend at least 98 RON in their bikes in Europe but it's difficult to know how that relates to the fuel in New Zealand. On that basis you may need to alter the timing but check first to see if it was altered by the dealer.
  17. Entry List Here. Only 45 Entries. Championship and Expert A have 9 and 10 entries, only one youth and 25 Expert "B" entries. Ben Morphett isn't there and the Expert A class seems to bit sparse. Expert B entry is OK. Hopefully a few "locals" might decide to ride.

    Leaky rad

Those cowls seem to cause problems on the Bare metal rads. GasGas fixed there's a while back but all dealers were frantically remounting them prior to that.
  19. At least once a month seems popular. It usually means the oil "does" 8 trials or so. If you are doing distance trials then change it after that trial.
  20. Well said Caroline, Shame about the riders and the one who protested as it seems to have not permeated to the other National championships. Perhaps somebody taking things a bit too seriously.
  21. It sounds like a sticking float problem. If it is tipped this may not be helping. If the bike is new I'd get the dealer to check the float height and see if it is sticking. If you need to do it yourself then I'd set it straight and clean out the float bowl. There is a guide to setting the float height on the Beta Forum as they had a few setup problems initially. It is a tricky process. Failing that have a look at this Float.
  22. And let's have a picture of the winner!!! From Left to right Andrew "AC" Carter, Mike Hinch, Yeadon Guiseley Club President, James Dabill and Margaret Carter.
  23. Given One at least one of the riders does ride "for" Y&G and the ACU Steward appears to have been consulted that comment is a little "incorrect".
  24. Depends where you want to be really. The Gas Gas remains the "trick" bike and the Sherco is pretty dependable and is a lot "trickier" in ST form. My lad did try the 2011 Beta EVO 125 of Danielle Whitham and his verdict was that it seemed more powerful than the GasGas 125 he last rode in 2009. He since has ridden 2010 GasGas250 and 2011 GasGas300. The Power will seem pretty good stepping off a Beta 80 and the bike will seem a class up as all the 125's are using the same parts as the "adult" bikes.
  25. Just a small side note. I have noted that Some riders have been taken out of the Main results and classed as N/C due to "late" entries taken up as a result of other riders not being able to take the start. This appears to be due to "other riders" raising objections. Now I do know that other nationals have had "late entries" due to similar situations of "Force Majeaur" and those entries have counted in the results. Much as some riders may feel that these riders would "harm" their chances in the Championship, I would have thought that "any" rider who only does a few "local" rounds would do that anyway so they should have to live with it. On this Occasion the entry is always over subscribed due to so many "locals" having known Chris Carter and riding in memory of him.
