  1. Actually He was at Scarborough and when I see him I expect the comment's to be equally as forthright. As I have said a trial which produces so few "rides" thru sections has been badly judged. I consider Bracken Rocks to be a "classic" venue and when damp or dry it's a great place to ride. You have however to stop and think when the first "National" of the year is that early and the weather is unpredictable as to who you are catering for. We have already seen numbers fall and I don't see them recovering. As for we "need" the hard courses for the riders to "develop", They are not going to develop if they cannot "ride" the course. Constant Three's does not a Trials rider make.
  2. Looks like Barry Robinson has thrown his hat into the fray!!! The same basic criticism's but with the eye of a man who has been there, covered it and publishes.
  3. Chris Short Chris Stay and George Gosden are entered at Scarborough this weekend.
  4. Just to clear up on the first lap there were 8 clean rides for ALL riders on ALL sections. on the Second lap 7 clean Rides on the third 10 so that's 25 cleans from a total of 252 sections or a 10% success rate for ALL riders. Length of sections was also criticised many riders being out of time feet from the end flags. Many riders "enduro'ed" though to get a three and that's no test for a Trials rider. Yes If Rich had been there I'd expect him to pull in less marks as would Shepard etc. However the riders behind them will not improve on courses with sections that do not allow you to "ride" the section. Chris Short and Chris Stay would still have been the top two but the following riders would have been sorted on riding ability not who was fastest thru a section. Last years North East Trial seems to have been a good example of this. Most at the Trial considered it a good test and the top riders came out on top. The Idea is to that the difficultly is behind the Adult Expert A course which is really designed for 250 and bigger machinery. Lets face it the "top" Youths will get out on that course anyway and this year will have more chances to do that course than the A class anyway.
  5. Had a little feedback along the same lines. Not really any change from last year. We all know it is difficult and many parents don't want to rock the boat but a thought for the conditions and the fact these are 125's wouldn't go amiss at these trials. I know a local who went down to watch likened the sections to Expert A national sections.
  6. The Series kicks off this weekend (06/03/10) at 1PM with the venue being Deer Park Bingley. Two courses on the Main route with a separate "Small wheel" course for the Kids. For directions see Yeadon Guiseley's Website.
  7. I think the latest Gas Gas 250's run 10/42.
  8. Chris Carter is on the 3rd of April this year due to a Centre on the Sunday. It will be running from Dob Park just North of Otley and will be a 40 Section One lap trial. It will basically wind around the Washburn valley. There will be roadwork involved and three courses available. Championship, 50/50 and clubman.
  9. The Reason is that running on the Sunday would have clashed with Ripon's J L Ellis Centre Championship Trial so it gives local riders the chance to do both.
  10. Regs have now been posted for Yeadon Guiseley's round of the Novogar Series. This is to take place on Saturday the 3rd of April this year so make sure you have it marked on the calendar. Regs on Yeadon Guiseley's website.
  11. So according to TUK these will come with Ohlins rear shock and some other "racing" bits and will be delivered next month. Then in May comes the Raga bikes. Can the market stand all these special editions??
  12. Not seen Broken Swing arms except on the Mag Alloy Raga's which they stopped in 2007. Generally the mounts on the exhaust do break on the "old" frame but I would have thought they would have been re-welded by now. The Bolts holding the airbox on at its front end can put a hole in the tank but again mostly these were replaced by shorter ones that didn't touch the tank. That's about it really.
  13. Having a Teenager to crowbar out of his pit 11:00 is a sensible start time. Today we had a 10:30 start. I woke him at 9:10 and we didn't get going until 9:50 so we were chasing the clock! However we did get entered( Thanks Sue!!) and weren't the last entry. He also finished ahead of about 50% of the field and we were away pretty early.
  14. It's early days but there are only 14 riders entered at Mansfield Maun's Challenge Lusky A and B round as this is posted. There's only until the 15th February to get the entries in so Dad's will have to move quickly to get the entry in. Funnily enough it's seven in each class!
  15. Given PayPal's reputation amongst ebay buyers and sellers maybe you should re-think this??? Personally looking at the T&C's and the angst many (including myself), have had using it I'd avoid it like the plague.
  16. X-treme Trials It's Martin Crosswaite and Dan Clark. Xtremetrials
  17. Richmonds website is www.richmondmotorclub.com And they mainly have trials to the west of Richmond. Beta,s Website is www.betatrialuk.com. There is a section that has some information and Most owners find John Lampkin pretty helpful. If you need something you can just phone and ask.
  18. Sorry to report that the Clerk of the course has inspected Addingham and the Snow is too deep to attempt to stage a Trial. I will Post the next trial date and a re arranged date for the second closed to club onYeadon Guiseley & DMC's website when I have it. The club hopes to see you at the next trial.
  19. There will be an Inspection of the area on Friday at which time a decision will be made as to whether to go ahead.

    Sheffield Sherco

Seen a couple close up including Michael Brown's and it's a nice looking thing. Looks very small, sort of like an 80 at the Front end where the filter is. Seems to work pretty well. We'll soon see if the concept works.
  21. I have just spoken to Mrs Myers the secretary of the club. She is going to speak to the Clerk of the course this evening but it looks like the trial will have to be cancelled. The Normal parking area looks like it will be inaccessible and no alternatives can be found.
  22. Don't see a problem? rules are front spindle in so they can be five'd from that point even if the rear isn't, so it's fair that once it's out then the section is completed.
  23. Had two turn up at Dob Park for Yeadon Guiseley's Charity Trial. Michael Brown and Wayne Braybrook were both out on them. Didn't hear of any troubles there and Michael won the Trial on clean with Wayne fifth. I did hear second hand that icing in the carb had been a problem when starting them up initially but they seemed to go pretty well once warm.
