  1. It's quite easy to do that amount of trials up here in the Yorkshire Centre. A typical weekend could see you doing a Saturday YG, Barnsley, Bradford, Craven or Spen Valley trial at 1 followed by a blast up to do a Wetherby or Ripon Trials at 5:30. Then Any of those clubs plus Centre's will be running on a Sunday Morning!!. Then on Bank Holidays Somebody will be running as well. Makes Practice at weekends a bit redundant. As for the X-blok's most experienced riders up here run them and yes I know exactly how they are constructed. The whole idea is that the plastic protects the metal. Did you enlarge the mounting holes on the carrier??
  2. We have put one on our last two bikes and they have lasted really well. Certainly after braking two of the "standard" blocks in six months and having to replace those that didn't after four or five months riding they are a revelation. They also seem to be better when taking knocks as well. The size of the Standard block does cause the tensioner arm to "bend" after a couple of knocks causing more chain wear. We have more exposure than most to these blocks having seen the prototypes in development and having been "on the spot" when the idea came into being. I'd get back to the shop with them and get another. I'll have a word this weekend and see if there has been a batch problem.
  3. Noticed He was excluded from the results for being "out of time". I was watching at section 4 and He did come round three times and looked to be having a good ride. I know that he did have problems with his CDI unit on the first section but I thought he'd got round in time.

  5. Soon to appear on the BBC "Air Medics", The Great North Air Ambulance the clip is another Trials Rider!!!!!!!!!!!
  6. Yeadon-Guiseley's last Club trial of the year is at Addingham on Saturday 11th October at 1PM. As usual two courses will be run for All classes along with the seperate conducted course for the little bikes.
  7. BUMPY is available and can be good especially if you want a bit of company!! I have heard a rumour that they may be getting a much bigger area if things go right.
  8. I've been asked to Publicise that the last in Ripon's Saturday evening series has moved venue to Mill House Farm Winksley. The Small Wheels will be at 2:00pm and the Main Trial starts at 3:30pm still on the 20th September. Andy if you could put this on the front page it would be appreciated. The Original Fellbeck venue is still unuseable due to the parking area being waterlogged.
  9. The Web site states that the trial MAY be called off on Thursday the 18th depending on the weather. Maybe not???
  10. I believe time limits are at the discretion of the organiser.
  11. The ACU have bowed to pressure and switched the Youth and Ladies national series to FIM rules for 2009. Hence Stopping is to be allowed.
  12. Regs now avaialble at Yeadon Guiseley's website.
  13. Margaret Myers has phoned this morning and the Trial At Fellbeck is off due to the condition of the venue after the last couple of days rain. They will not be a replacement trial .
  14. I think his Problem is that there is no start to his diplomatic skills!!!!!

    4rt To 2t To 4rt

Depends. One good club rider in our area switched to the 4RT couldn't get on with it and went to a Beta 2t then on to a Beta 4t. Did well enough but bought the new Raga and has had his best results for a while. The problem is it's expensive trying out the options!!!!!!!!!!
  16. I came across this petition on the "Private Pilots" Website PPRUNE. and have linked it from "Pistonheads" for Motor Racing Circuits. I think Trials Riders need to be heard on this as well so Am linking the Petition here as well. Andy, I think this deserves to be a "sticky" here as well. It may be worthwhile passing it though to the Scooby site. This could have saved Addingham. Live with it Lets make it as influential as the "Road Pricing" petition that killed off "pay as you go" motoring.
  17. So I record "Helicopter Heroes" they follow the Yorkshire Air Ambulance around and Being a contributor to "Pistonheads" the website that raised
  18. I have it down as being on the 16th November At Addingham. I'll check that out though.
  19. My Son's a big user of their Kit and I believe that they are made by a major boot manufacturer for On and Off.
  20. As a temporary fix make sure all the spokes are tightened then apply a little rubber solution(that stuff you fix patches to inner tubes with), at the bottom of each spoke. Doesn't stop it entirely but it does slow it enough for it not to be too much of a problem until you get a new tyre and can fix it permanently.
  21. Personally I'd love to know where the extra
  22. It's on their website but with no information. Any details out there????
  23. TriaslUK have the range and prices on their site. TrialsUK
  24. Thanks A lot!!!!!!!!!!!! I put up a link to The Yeadon Guiseley Website and Highlighted the entries of Doug Lampkin and James Dabill both here and On the YG Website. The club is, like all the organisers of Nationals, purely amateur, hence getting publicity is difficult. Getting any coverage has been even more difficult with the Olympics dominating the press. Even the local Yorkshire Post, which Barry Robinson normally gets a report in, did not even carry the results the following day which was very annoying!!!!! With no disrespect to Colin Appleyard the sort of sponsor that would put the money into marketing the series isn't there. Given the profile of the sport you need somebody with a male dominated market. Gillette, JCB, Burberry, Carlsberg etc or a media deal that would attract a wider marketing push. Given that Trials is not easy to film you'd need a format like "Kick Start" and a few compact trials to get the interest of the TV as well. Until then the clubs will keep the Trial's going.
  25. Both are good bike's. The Beta is more numerous especially in 4 speed form and is a winning bike. The Gas Gas is also a winning bike. If you are looking at new then it's a case of trying them out to see which your lad prefers. If not then get the best you can find of either.
