  1. Hi Craig Nice to see you on the site!!! It is a pain when other Trials are on in the area. However the only ones "protected" are the Centre and Group Trials. When there are on only Novice/restricted Trials are allowed. The Centre Restricted Trials aren't protected in the same way so You have to fight it out with whichever Club Trials are on that day.
  2. There are Four Options all of which are 80's. The Beta, Clipic, Gas Gas Rookie and Sherco. The Clipic, Beta and Gas Gas are purpose built to be 80's using a small frame with Full size wheels. The Sherco uses a full size frame. The Engine in the Beta is probably the best although the Clipic is pretty good. The Gas Gas seems to have suffered from a lack of development but the entry of Gas Gas into the 50 market has bucked them up a bit. The Sherco is good for the bigger rider but the "feel" of the thing is a bit "big" for young riders. What it comes down to is how many are out there. On this the Beta has it. Plenty out there and the early ones should be good on price. They do take a hammering however so take a good look at them before buying.
  3. I have them at Home. I will Scan them in and produce a report on the trial in the next few days.
  4. Factory Kev recommends "boring out" rubber block on the reed block to accept the Carb. You can also get a carb from Kelcoat with a metal "sleeve" fitted that goes straight into the block. Works a treat and stops the carb rubbing the top of the gearbox casing.
  5. Its a replacement for the first closed to club trial of the Year that had to be cancelled and will be at Addingham Moorside on Saturday at 2pm. As usual All classes on the main and clubman courses with a seperate conducted course for Small wheels. See Yeadon Guiseley's website for details.
  6. Yep about halfway thru the trailer there is a clip of 007 on a Trials bike!! Too short to see which model as it's "disguised" rather like the "Bourne" one but it is there!!!
  7. The "Green" fluid is LHM Fluid. Used by Citroen in their Hydro Pneumatic suspension. It's in Pro model's from 2004-ish. NYL tops up the top resivoir and pumps the lever. You get bubbles in the fluid and when the air is out of the system it "spurts" back. At that point it's time to top up and close up.
  8. Oh dear!!! didn't go so well for the Scooby despite the better time with the STIG!!
  9. The land has not been "taken over" the club merely manages the land due to the restrictions placed on it by Bradford council. Mr. Fothergill does not want the council to take him to court over the use of the land and as a club Yeadon-Guiseley has historically used the land for more years than I care to remember. I completeley agree that the loss of the land for practice was a major blow to Riders BUT as previously stated I suggest you get on the Silsden web site and track down the Counncillor responsible and aim to get him unseated. Perhaps then you can aim to get "The Nab" re instated as a practice ground by threatening his position. He seems to have deliberately set out to get on the council, then the planning committee in his efforts to close it. If your feelings are as strong you can make a difference. If he holds meetings attend and harang him. As a resident you are perfectly entitled to make his life as a councillor difficult. Yeadon Guiseley main thrust was to make the land available for trials. As a resident you want a practice ground. MAKE HIM AWARE OF THAT.
  10. It's been so long since I did it I cannot remember!!! However I believe it's
  11. Despite not being on the TMX "Regs" this week there will be a round of the Yeadon Guiseley Closed to club Championship this weekend. at Brimham Rocks. Check Yeadon Guiseley's Website for details. You only get one chance a year to visit this National venue and ride!! Please note that there as usual will be a "conducted" course for C and D class Small wheelers.
  12. If you live locally I suggest you, (and any other locals), try and unseat the councillor who initiated the problem and Stopped ALL activity on the "Nab". In the meantime If you wish to use the land for practice then propose it to the club or indeed to your club and get them to inquire about using the land. West Leeds and Spen Valley have both used Addingham in the past few months for Trials I'm certain if another club wishes to use the land for a trial or practice it can be negotiated within any days left.
  13. Him and Valerie Singleton!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  14. Hold the spoke using a pair of pliers or better still a Mole grip then try using the spanner?? I always wrap the spoke with a cloth around the gripped area first so you don't damage it.
  15. I "timed" at Brimham last year and only had one rider query how close he had been to the gate. In that case he had cleared the major obstacle's but had not just cleared a minor one and was at least three metres short of the end gate. In order to avoid confusion I blew the whistle as I started timing and blew when out of time if the rider was still in the section.
  16. But He has started from back there in GP2 an came in Second. I think it will depend on Strategy to be honest.
  17. Tough call to be honest. I haven't seen a Cadet 80 whereas I have seen a few 50's. They have been
  18. Nobody has had any trouble with any other circuits implementation of the "Red Light" even at Monaco where "Kimi" ran into the back of another car after losing control. Massa 's incident also involved another vehicle in front of him. In that case though There was only one lane in use. KR was also released as Kubica passed. He shouldn't have been. If that had happened to Ferrari the reaction from the "red whingers" would have been a call to the stewards.
  19. There's a number of issues over this incident. Firstly what was Kimi doing racing Kubica in the pitlane. He should not have been released but Ferrari were desperate to make up ground, this led to Kimi being on the more dangerous inside track in the pitlane. This incident alone should have meant that he received a black flag. This also meant that LH who exited his box further down the pit lane. was accelerating to the limit as He came across the cars stopped at the red light. Seconly LH He braked and avoided Kubica but in avoiding RK hit the Ferrari sitting in the wrong lane. Remember these cars have a lot of hand controls for starting/pit stops so it isn't as easy as just hitting the brake. The pit lane does not have the grip of the main track and tyres are also cold. Thirdly and most importantly, under the current rules this is the second consecutive year that Canada's Red light has caused a problem. It needs re-siting or increasing in size to stop these incidents. Massa didn't see it last year when approaching behind another car.
  20. Not seen any beyond wear and tear to be honest. Another 125 make is much more prone to that type of problem. Keep it on a diet of good synthetic mix oil and you'll be ok. Check the clutch fluid type. I think 05 was when the clutch fluid changed to the LHM (green) fluid. The lid of the clutch reservoir will be green in colour instead of black. If it has metal covers just open it up and check.
  21. The REV50 and the Gas Gas Cadet 50 are small Wheel bikes that have 17" rear and 19" front wheels. The 80's usually have 19 rears and 21 front's.
  22. I'll avoid the usual things to check and stick to specifics. The Gearbox is different to any other make so make sure it operates normally. Any excess movement could mean a strip down and rebuild or new parts. The Airbox is designed to let water/mud though and out the bottom so don't be worried by a little dirt inside it but check the removable "step" is there above the air filter. This stops it getting drenched by anything coming though the inlet. Check the back of the Aluminium tank to make sure the airbox screws haven't made a hole in it. The engine should rev to heaven and beyond once it's warm and watch for any signs of overheating. The thermostat should be on one of the pipe's on the 05 so it isn't as bad as the later ones to change but it might be a sign of problems later. Check the exhaust mounts as well, the 05 had a steel mid box so isn't as prone to breaking them but the back detachable one still breaks occasionally. The rest is pretty standard. Bearings, both wheel and shock need to be checked. Check the frame over shocks etc.
  23. Presuming He is used to a manual then Second hand the only option is a Beta Rev50 4 speed. It's actually a great option anyway so no problem at all!! If you can afford new then the 6 speed Beta 50and the Gas Gas 50 are in the frame. I have seen both on trials and both seem pretty good and reliable. If you can find dealers with them or a friendly face at a trial looking to sell then get him on one and see what He thinks!!
  24. Looks a lot nicer than the Five door!!
  25. The results for Emmotts have been published to the New Site. Don't forget that the next round is on Saturday at Ian's Rock's at 2:00PM.
