  1. Presuming He is used to a manual then Second hand the only option is a Beta Rev50 4 speed. It's actually a great option anyway so no problem at all!! If you can afford new then the 6 speed Beta 50and the Gas Gas 50 are in the frame. I have seen both on trials and both seem pretty good and reliable. If you can find dealers with them or a friendly face at a trial looking to sell then get him on one and see what He thinks!!
  2. Looks a lot nicer than the Five door!!
  3. The results for Emmotts have been published to the New Site. Don't forget that the next round is on Saturday at Ian's Rock's at 2:00PM.
  4. Thanks to some hard work put in by Andy, Yeadon Guiseley's website has a new Look! I have posted Regs for the Upcoming Centre Trials and will be "populating" the rest of the site as I go. For those who were put off by Google's rather misguided warnings please note that Both the YG website and Trialscentral are hosted by Andy. Many Thanks for the Hard work.
  5. Given HP and Dell are pressurising Microsoft to continue support for XP I don't see support for the product being dropped soon. Vista take up isn't going as well as MS had hoped despite the noises coming from Albuquerque.
  6. Given they are a little bigger than a Vauxhall Combo it should fit in ok. I'd check for height on the Caddy though
  7. Rob Loney won it followed by Jon Hillam and Chris Hunt. Cracking Arena sections including two skip sections and one over an Escort van. Watch out for video on Youtube!!!

    Finally

With regard to the Indy cars that's what I said. Dirt Track is a different kettle of fish. NASCAR lost it roots and is probably the worse for it. We have The "highlights" of NASCAR, Grand Am and IRL on digital channels in the UK. I've given up on NASCAR despite Franchitti moving across. Although I am waiting to see the Road course's. They are racing at Circuit Gilles Villeneuve and Watkins Glen and THAT will be good. Looks like the Mexican race hasn't been shown yet so I'll have to watch that. IRLis good on The Street and Road courses where the better drivers are able to make a difference. Look at the St. Petersberg Results. Back at the Ovals it's too predictable. It's also becoming too dangerous. Franchitti's "flying lessons" are an example of what happens when Open wheelers tangle on Ovals.
  9. Even sillier The Mazda Bongo Friendee!!! Or the same van marketed by Ford as the Freda.

    Gas Gas Exhaust

The 08 125 seems a lot better. We don't have the "marks" that appeared on the other bikes.

And there is the Mistake. The reason IRL and Champcar have merged is that much as IRL is doing better than Champcar neither is drawing the audiences NASCAR does in the US. Danica Is a short term fix that could mean drivers moving to other series. Personally I dislike the Oval racing as in NASCAR it seems to be a lottery and in IRL only Ganassi, Andretti and Penske look like long term front runners. I much prefer the Rolex Grandam Sportcar Series and the ALMS where Audi now have more Porsche LMP's to deal with.
  12. NYL Did the B class last year. Had a bad first lap then stuck in 4 good ones to get into the top 10. He really enjoyed the trial as He seemed to click with the "Quarry" style and I appreciated the compactness of the Venue. He's having a "trying" year having had some bike and injury issues but We were intending to enter until He got His exam timetable. Hopefully We'll be back at the next national this year and look forward to yours next. I think yours was the only national in a quarry last year and I find they make great venues along with some challenging sections. The Sections coming up the road from the bottom of the quarry were spot on for the "B" class and like I said the compactness meant there were no time issues either which made a change!
  13. Only one I have seen that Carries the Bike is a Toyota Previa and that was the "old" one. The New one looks big enough as does the Grand Voyager.
  14. I'll get NYL to tell those He "chats" with to make sure the message gets across. Apologies for not entering this year Alan. NYL has some very importnant GCSE's on the Monday and will probably be revising all Sunday. All the best anyway and if you have a round next year we'll be back!!

Andy in Women in Mud Picture Shocker!!!!!!!!!!!! Really though you've got to admire the restraint shown so far by the regulars!!!
  16. The Bottom line is that Hp, Dell and many other makers are still offering PC's with XP. In Fact when Vista came out Dell dropped XP except for a few low end products. It's NOW available across the range again. Vista does not have a "killer" reason to switch. XP promised Better performance over Win2K and also better USB support. On the other hand Vista has lost functionality due to security issues with some "older" hardware and is far too "feature rich" to run on the current PC's. A bad combination.
  17. Were you there between 2 and 4:30???? NYL was riding around at that time.
  18. I get mine from Sparkplugs uk. They have a reckoner on the site which recommends the 7 rather than the 5.

Much as I quite like Danica you have to realise that there is a lot of hype around her. Katherine Legge was the first winner of an open wheel race in the US. That was in the feeder series to IRL and has been "lost" in the rush to fete Danica. The Boss of IRL Tony George is also facing problems over this as the other drivers are wondering if it worth staying in the "Danica racing League" . He seems to promote her over the races themselves which could be a mistake given how little respect some Motor racing journalist's have for her. As for the Oval races. Most U.S. observers have twigged that having slicks, limited engines and a reasonable aero package means that the cars are able to run "flat out" with minimal driver input. The "real" tester is the road courses, then you see the battle of the best drivers rather than tactics and luck. Danica doesn't really feature that well despite being in one of the best teams. NASCAR is a different kettle of fish in that the cars have LOTS of power and need to be carefully managed on the ovals.

    No Stop = 5?

The position I take is that it MUST be possible without a dab. I understand HL position on the observers as well. I have lost count of the number of times I get a "that's a five!!!" after a rider has gone through while My view has been obscured by a dozen riders "looking" at a tricky part of the section. Well I'm sorry if I didn't see it I cannot mark it!!

    No Stop = 5?

I haven't seen the sections so can only comment on What I do. No Matter what the rules if the section cannot be done without hopping, ( A Turn's is too tight, Rock too high to just approach etc.), then a 5 for stopping goes off the list unless it's a complete cock-up!!!! Many clubs do set out sections that cannot be done without stopping despite the rules.

  24. There was a delay between batches over christmas. Due to the Truck driver (quite rightly) wanting to be at home for Christmas.
  25. Wheel Tape. Seen a few riders use it.
