  1. It's not illegal to flush out a Fox with Hounds which makes the whole Fox hunting is illegal argument pretty pointless. The main thing they have to do is not allow the hounds to kill the fox. That has to be done by somebody with a knife or gun. Just remember that in the countryside the majority support fox hunting seeing them as a pest. Only those who see the "cuddly" side in towns actually support nu-labia. Unless their pet rabbit was savaged of course.
  2. The trial is a great one. Mainly in a wood with a stream and steep banks with about 3 or four sections on the moor as you circle back towards the road. They is a nice Conducted course for the Small Wheelers as well. Your easiest route is to take the A1 up to the M62 Then head for Leeds. Come off the M62 at Junction 27 Signposted Morley. It's a dumbell roundabout and you'll be off at the "crossbar". At the roundabout come all the way back round and back under the Motorway to the roundabout on the other side and take the first exit. It's the A650 to Bradford. This takes you to the Bradford Inner ring Road. Follow it round anti clockwise until you pick up the A650 for Skipton and Bingley again. If you end up on the A6177 don't panic. Just follow the Skipton/Bingley/Keighley signs and you'll pick up the A650 later on. Follow the signs for the A650 Bingley & Keighley. It Takes you past a few Car dealers until you turn right at a T junction then left on to the main road a quarter mile on. At that time of Morning the Traffic should be fairly light so you shouldn't have many troubles. You'll get a to roundabout on the edge of Bingley with a Hotel on one side of the road and a Private Hospital on the other. Take the second exit which is the Bingley Bypass. At the Roundabout at the end of the Bypass you should see the Bradford & Bingley Head Office on your right. Take the right turn at this roundabout then a right at the next roundabout. You are now on the "old" A650 back into Bingley. Just down on the left is a Corner shop. There should be flags from this point. Turn left at the shop. Follow the road up over a Single lane Canal Bridge. (it's a odd bridge that lifts for barges). Keep going up the Hill to a small roundabout and turn left. Almost Immediately turn right at the School. Follow the road up the hill. It becomes a narrow country lane that twists up onto the Moor. There is a crossroads about a mile or two further up where you turn right up a road that has limited access. ( It peters out afetr a few miles). You park up down that lane. It's pretty easy to turn round up the lane so I'd drive up as you'll see where Sue Smith is parked for entries/numbers. Just make sure you are heading for Bingley once you are in Bradford and you'll be ok. We are at the Scarborough Youth National that Weekend which is a shame as NYL always enjoys the course.
  3. We put 450ML of Dexron III Automatic fluid in. I believe this is what Gas Gas UK recommend.
  4. Unfortunately due to the Parking area being waterlogged Yeadon Guiseley have decided to cancel the trial on Sunday the 20th. We apologise but the club WILL be reorganising the event as soon as possible. Alternative events are the Horsforth Trial At Tong and the Barnsley Centre Restricted At Dovecliffe. This has been posted in the UK forum as well.
  5. Its known as Parkwood Off Road Centre and Yes it is possible to Practice PROVIDING you ring up first to check that they can accomadate you. There are other events on at weekends and they don't mix Cars and Bikes on the same day. Horsforth are running a club Trial On the 20th January so you would have to enter to use the facilities on Sunday. There are some restrictions on Parking and you can't use the rocks close to the lake at the moment. Contact Numbers and descriptions from Parkwood Off road
  6. I have had My Meridian 200 since 1992. Yes was
  7. It's a Yeadon Guiseley so you can do either although it will be more expensive on the day. If you like the longer trials without going to the Scott and SSDT extreme then watch out for West Leeds Stan Pitts Trophy, Nutexa and White Rose Trials. These are usually held up near Kilnsey and Halton Gill although planning restrictions have meant they have had to move them some years. Bradford do some up there as well so they are worth watching for. Craven's Centre/group Trials at Cawder Hall Farm can have a bit of distance as well. I'm sure if you ask in the UK section there will be some recommendations.
  8. Got some results from the Yorkshire Post. I wasn't far out on the 30 marks but Dan Hemingway just fooled me with the Best Performance award on 27 Ben was second on 30 followed by Wayne Braybrook on 46 and Danny Gamble on 56 (Expert Course) Best Intermediate was P Kettlewell on 119 Best Novices were R Harker on 105 D mawer 112 and Glen Scholey on 120 A class Hard course Winner was NYL on 89. On the Clubman course M Wilson took it on 39 just pipping J Moorhouse on 40 and H Gulley came in third on 51 Youth A Sam Yeadon dropped a creditable 63 and Danielle Whitham came second on 146. That Track gets me as well I carry the bike on the back of a Almeira and have to swop ruts to avoid grounding. Only Post Hill's entry is worse!! I'd make for the Cobb & Jagger Trophy in early Feb if you liked that one. Parking's on the roadside so you should be ok and the sections are in a Stream area and the wooded valley it drops into. Good ride round and the exit from the wood is almost as entertaining as the sections. The Venue is between Bingley and Keighley.
  9. Graham may well have changed it since NYL did one but if there are a few of you you can expect a simple section where you will be assessed so that Graham knows your riding ability. After that He puts together a section with a easy and a hard route and lets you ride it. Graham will tell you which to ride and will then give you pointers to what you are doing wrong and advice on how to improve. He'll change to a different type of section and do this a couple of times so you improve your riding across a range of section styles. I'd say that Graham is quiet and thoughtful teacher. Listen to what he says and ask questions and you'll get a lot out of him!!
  10. Well That proved a tough one. I followed NYL round on the first lap and the sections were top class. They even managed to Stop the top riders. I wouldn't expect any scores below 15 and wouldn't be surprised to see the leading riders well into the thirties.
  11. Andy said He wanted a beautiful Model to photograph on His Subaru. NOT one that was as good looking as it!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!
  12. Now available on Scarborough's and Yeadon Guiseley's Web sites. Note the closing date for Scarborough is the 20th January. (I'll remind you Sunday Josh!!!!!!) Scarborough regs Yeadon Guiseley Regs
  13. The 2nd Club trial will be held at Addingham Moorside on the 20th January. It's an early start at 10:30 am so set your alarm. This will use up one of the Farmers days under the 14/28 days rule but the club are still pursuing planning permission with an eye to allowing the farmer to open the land for practice at least once a month.
  14. Probably either 2 of 20 or 3 of 12(ish). Parking is a problem hence the limit. I posted an entry for NYL on Monday for the Hard course so hopefully he's in but I would ring up Margaret to check if you are in as they were giving priority to Hard Course riders. As such in Centre trials the graded Novice, Intermediate and Expert riders (and these days a lot of A and B Class) riders ride the Hard course. Everybody else rides the Clubman course.
  15. Second hand there's only really the old 4 speed REV50 the smaller 50 is auto. New you can choose between the Gas Gas Cadet 50 and The New 6 speed Beta REV 50. We ran a REV50 about 4 to 5 years ago and it is a hardy little bike. Main points were the Exhaust Bracket on the early ones only mounted on one side leading to a few breakages, (this was changed after a few years), The Output Shaft broke on NYL about a month before we sold it which happened to a few and the Plug could oil up if the bike wasn't warmed up. The plug fouling was fixed by running the bike with the fuel off until it stopped, but it was always a good idea to have a spare. The Gas Gas is not as numerous, but the ones we have seen have ridden really well. There might be a few second hand about now but like the new REV50 the Cadet has only been around for 7 or 8 months.
  16. Did you get a manual?? It might be worth checking. 80:1 sounds lean enough. Was the bike New? It could be the previous owner used too much and it's the residue.
  17. There are three bits that can improve the Perfermance of the PRO. The First is the Kehin Carb this improves response and seems to widen the Power band espcially at the top end. Then you can change the Rear shock for an Ohlins. NYL thinks it's less "sticky" when hopping around and it does improve the traction. Lastly there is the Titanium Front pipe. The long pipe softens the engine the short increase's the power. I have also seen the S3 cover which allows you to change the clutch response but changing the Standard Clutch resevoir to a larger one does that and is a lot cheaper.
  18. Sounds like unburnt oil that has collected in the exhaust. What mix are you using???
  19. Well beside the normal riding gear, We carry Waterproof's, Spare clothesand shoes to change into after the trial, Food usually chocolate, nutri grain bars, crisps and energy sweets. Drinks see what he likes We carry a Red bull like drink, 4 Powerade's and 2 litres of water. We also have some wipes and latex gloves. Don't forget you'll need a decent jacket, boots and waterproof's yourself. Then for the bike, Spare fuel already mixed, Chain oil, WD-40 a mix of spanners, screwdrivers, hex spanners etc. Spare plug or two some ty-wraps and gaffer tape. Any thing else you'll pick up as you go. Which trials are you attending??
  20. Isn't that a Davy Tender on the water???
  21. Not any Problem for me. Are you using www.gasgasuk.com????? Phone number is 01298 766813.
  22. I found that Steve didn't help NYL at the time. He seemed to ignore him a bit which was strange. Graham Jarvis did a Youth Evening or three for Yeadon-Guiseley and was superb!!!! I'd recommend him and He is doing some training in Kent this weekend. Quiet guy but listen to what he says and you gain from it. If you get a few people together you will be able to get Dan Clark or James Lampkin to a venue close by and they are good.
  23. Yep the box is four speed and the neutral ia at the bottom. Reminds me of my old FS1E.
  24. Just make sure you see the car before you buy. We wanted a Mazda 3 TS2 off Motorpoint Derby. Despite asking them several times because of the distance and time constraints they failed to pick up a cigarette burn on the drivers seat. Luckily they had another car with a similar spec that turned out to be in better condition. I also explicitly asked that the number plates be left alone as we did not want "EU" style plates. In the end I requested the "old" plates and changed them back. The Manager came out with " But the supplying dealer has to change the Plates it's illegal not to....." guff. The only legal requirement is that the dealer supplying the PLATES has to put their address/postcode on them.
  25. Just come back from Vegas and they are making a big thing of it with virtually everywhere booked up this weekend!!
