Club trial's have a Clubmans route and a "Hard" Course. These are for riders who have ridden for a while. The Beginners/Novice have a very easy course and also a hard(novice) course that is set out to be between the Clubmen and Hard course. As for being a member just join on the day. We'll be renewing NYL's on the day.
-
Checked at <mention of this company is not permitted on Trials Central> . I was talking to Phil at the "Fun" trial and it's the Next Novice Beginners in February, the club trial is on the 29th.
-
So I went over to Todotrial to read their report on Sheffield. I had to run it thru Babelfish to translate it, and Tony Bou comes out as "Toni Seine fishing"????????????????????
-
Is there actually a trial on the 29th?? Talking to the secretary at the last trial I'm sure he said the Next trial would be in February.
-
Thw way we go is to come off the M1 at Junction 36 and go down the A6195 to wards Wath. I think it's about 5 roundabouts down and you need to take the Wombwell turn signposted for the station. When you get to the Crossroads go straight across. This takes you on to Dovecliffe Road. This takes you alongside Wombwell Wood. The trial Venue is on the right about a mile up. If the Sections are close to the road you'll see them on the right. Either way It's a road on the right I think with some signs pointing to a Recycling site(I think that's what it is). As you go down the road hairpins left and the trial entrance is on the outside of that corner. Take direction from the officials as to where to park as it can be a bit tight. See you there!!

Hiya Trialsbabe, to be flippant, Been there, done that got the t-shirt. To start if you are on a bike of up to 80cc then the "Small-wheels" trials are were you need to start. The first of these this year, is at Addingham Moorside with Yeadon Guiseley on the 15th January. ALL Yeadon-Guiseley trials, Beginners, Club and Centre/Group will have a Small-wheels trial run on a "conducted course" seperate to the main trial for Beginners/Young riders. This is normally taken by Mike Hinch the Club President and Junior Secretary. It's not a very easy course but will get you going. The other local clubs with this type of course to run on are Ripon, who run them on the same days as their "Evening trials" but at 3:30pm before the main trial and they do have a easy and hard route. Richmond also run conducted route's just watch out for their Youth trials. StuartC's Autotowbars Beginners at Bradford are also good to get you used to a "normal" trial format. I'd suggest getting used to slow tight corners with a step that may need a little bit of power as well as the more "spectacular" moves. Get out doing the Trials as much as possible. The more you ride with different clubs the better you will get.
REMEMBER Practising isn't a real trial so don't knock yourself out if you don't win the first trial you enter. NYL took 7 or 8 months to really make progress but does well enough now for him to really consider the nationals as a next step. Plus If you need it get your Dad to post on the forum for more advice. There are plenty of us out here who have being tho "t'mill" and are willing to give advice.
To End see you out there and most important HAVE FUN!!!

Great credit to Neil, Marty and the Avondale and Yeadon-Guiseley organisers out there. Gather there was a problem behind the scnes and hope it didn't spoil anybody's night. Have to mention the "Gestapo" on the doors. We arrived "late" at the G2F tent due to picking up the new "weapon" for NYL and to be honest I was not impressed by the attitude of the event "representatives". It will be mentioned and hopefully acted on. I do not appreciate such stupid remarks as "do you have a ticket" when I am not only in the venue but have a G2F band on my wrist!!!!! Other wise a brilliant night with a winner who was "all out"for the win. I think Dougie yet again was let down by the Bike not being up to the task (indoors at least). But all hatts off to Toni Bou for making a night of it!!!
-
Given that Ben's back on a Beta and that probably means no connection with Montesa in 2006 who's minding Dougie at Sheffield???
Also hear that James Dabill will be doing 5 rounds of the World Indoor as a wild card this year.

SPEAK FOR YOURSELF!!!!!
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Huh! I remember being mowed down by a certain rider at his first trial. He came and ran me down coming down a hill BACKWARDS!! Still brushed himself off and tried again.
-
CJB do video the event and highlights are on the Yearly review tape/disc. However this will not be available until the end of the year.
-
OH YES WE DO
But we hide them from you
<{POST_SNAPBACK}>
Too Late!!! I know where you are!!!
(But won't be along today as I'm at work )

EEKK!! well Take the Leeds outer Ring Road to The Rodley Roundabout. Take the first turn towards Bradford (A657)and keep going. (Beware of the speed cameras). You'll eventually pass Cobb & Jagger(Ducati and Gas Gas) and head up past Historic Saltaire to a Roundabout with a Shell Garage on it. Take the third turning between the Shell station and the Old Bus Garage. You are now on the Bingley Road. Continue to the Roundabout outside Bingley. Take the First turning Into Bingley and NOT the By-pass (B6265 NOT A650). Continiue into Bingley Centre. You'll pass the Bradford & Bingley Head Office. Easy to spot Modern large block on the Left. At the Next Lights take after that turn right up Park Road. When the road has gone left watch out for Lady Lane on your Left and turn into it. Drive up until you spot the Trial. There should be flags out to guide you in from Park Lane. But keep your eyes peeled as Bradford don't always put them out.

Addingham Moorside is still open as well. Between Ilkley and Skipton up the Hill and down Feather Bank Lane(I think?). Farmer comes and collects

TMX DO NOT give a bad review and to be fair most bikes are much of a muchness. the differences are with the rider. We have decided not to go with the 06 Sherco 125 because 1 it is new and teething problems could still rear their heads. 2 The frame at the steering end appears to be too wide. The Lock isn't as good as the old frame due to the allowences made for the 4T engine. This is one reason why everybody was excited by the TBM's publisher's "YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE" until "Trialsworld" hijacked it. They don't "suck up" to the importers and produce realistic tests.

As a preventative measure try using higher RON fuel. Optimax is 98 RON and Tesco do a 99 RON version as well as the various 97RON options from BP, Esso etc. It does tend to keep carbon build up to a minimum.
Do'd and don't's about high RON fuel.
DO get it from a station that's sells a lot of it. The chemicals used to raise the RON number do lose their effectiveness.
DON'T store it for ages for the reasons above.
Another alternative is LEADED 4star. It is available.

NYL had this problem on a REV50. We started adding Silkelene FST Pro to the fuel mix and have had no problems since.
-
Given how much the TY50 road bike is worth you've probably devalued it!
-
We use Castrol XR77 racing. Never had any problems at all.

Well how many Motorcycle shows are there in the UK and how many have "Demonstration" rings suited to this type of event? Like I said The Great Yorkshire Bike show(apologies Crosser if I have got the name wrong) did have Crosser and Dan doing their thing last year(as well as Crosser organising it). It was a great success and was part of a bigger bike show. Are there any others like it thoughout the UK?? If they can be organised and sanctioned by the ACU it might get somebody interested.
-
Crosser is running the big bike event at the Yorkshire Showground but It clashed in 2005 with Hawkstone I think. Perhaps the potential is there if it does not clash in 2006???
-
Taking NYL tomorrow to compare some 125's. Beta, Gas Gas and Scorpa demoing bikes.

Well for a start more observers are needed. Two per section and sometimes a "puncher". The sections have to be taped off and although some of the tape is supplied by sponsors the stakes to hold it aren't. A Qualified first aider and Ambulance vehicle need to be on site and they aren't cheap!! Most will have a PA system and "podium" which usually need to be hired and replica trophies need to be obtained for the day. These are expenses over and beyond what a Club or centre trial would incur.
