Todotrial seem to think at least one image is real and that the bike will be produced. We can presume that they consider the source to be credible. That does not mean that the UK will see any or that they will be produced in large numbers. Personally the images look like somebody has "added" new graphics to "old" bikes and the "new" bike itself is yet to be produced.
Personally working in IT I can carry a MS Surface 3 and USB leads more easily than fiddling round with dismantling a carb in a field. Horses for courses. I do know of a few OSSA's and haven't knowledge of any of the newer bikes having that many problems.
Seen Retro's report on the Last day at OSSA". Seems a waste to have all that potential go to waste. It does seem that at least one person there is at least trying to keep them going. My last experience with PriceWaterhouseCoopers wasn't that edifying. They tend not to know what they are doing, in the UK at least.
I gather OSSA just need some tooling to get going again. Getting it out of the GasGas factory is the problem. The Side Suspension of the JTG works pretty well but feels a bit "soft". I don't think Ross Danby would complain about it. As for EFI we have spent so much time adjusting carbs to low and high level trials anything that helps will be appreciated. Especially if it cleans up the running.
Essentially it's cost and what the market will stand. My thoughts on the TRS are that it is a "safe" design and as such many will feel comfortable with it. That allows TRS to get some momentum going and allow them to develop as they go. I believe that now there is a working EFI system all the makers will be looking at it. Cooling using the electric pump will be the next target for development.
As such nobody worries about Sherco's petrol tank/ air filter swop any more and that and the OSSA can "swim" better than any other bike I know. Vertigo's setup is similar so it looks like it works and has other advantages for weight distribution.
Used one on a Rover 25 1.6, Nissan Almeira. Mitsubishi Lancer Sport Estate, Chevrolet Cruze and currently a Volvo V60. No problems and on the last two cars it's been a removable towbar which the fitter has not had a problem with, and they know what I have it for.
Looking again it's disappointing that the Bike is so "standard". The carb and rear suspension are where everybody else is. A Kehin and Reiger or Ohlins would be where must riders would expect the money to be. Chris looked at the rear end and the Shock is not the standard he expected. The Jgas is a bit "soft" and getting the linkage to work with a stiffer setup is where I and he expected the TRS to be, not going back to a "proven" linkage. It looks like a separate plastic tank which makes EFI difficult. There is no Extra cooling either. Electric pumps look the way to keep the bikes cool and it is not there. Personally I'd be looking at Beta Pricing as it has no features that shout out Improved and better.
Bit disappointing. The Frame is JGas but the rest is Gas Gas and to be honest it looks a bit "safe". The Small plug also is from the Jgas. It may well go very well but it's almost gone backwards from the JGas.
The small Matchbox on the left side. I can't see it on the parts diagram and ours was knocked off the metal mount. Still connected and the bike runs ok but I am concerned just in case.
NYL's Girlfriend is a Spanish speaker and it seems that rumours in Spain are that next years bike is going to be all new. Given the current bike is pretty radical compared to the opposition what could they be up to?
It's a very strange situation. They are running a World Trials Effort but it seems a very Man in a shed operation on the manufacturing front. They obviously have a great bike but have a strange attitude to selling them. It almost as though you have to catch them in the right frame of mind to get a supply. But there is a supply IF you do. Sad state of affairs really. The opportunity to get a large share of the Market is slipping away.
TRS have appointed a US importer and stated in the Press release that they will "present" the Bike this month. Pic's and spec's soon by the sound of it.
