  1. Third plan to include the new 700cc Maico?! 80bhp! 4 turns out seems alot. I don't suppose you noted what clip needle was on?
  2. I suppose the 270 would need the slightly bigger main, my plug was a little dark when I pulled it after using a 110, so I stuck a 109 in. Don't suppose you could ask Ralph how many turns out his fuel screw is? I lost my position but gone 1 1/2 for the moment. Think I have needle in 4th from top -this sound correct? thanks
  3. Used the VHST for a while now, great carb. Had a few problems the other week during that wet bank holiday, and to cut a long stroy short, I bought some boyesens as I suspected my old reeds were probably on their last legs. Installed, I was very impressed. Left jetting exactly same as before main 110 pilot s37 fuel screw 1 and 1/4 turns out (roughly) This seemed a bit sharp at bottom, so following boyesens recommendations I went with main 109 pilot s38 fuel screw roughly 1 1/2 This seems a bit better....but I am wondering if anyone else has had any experience of re-jetting a vhst for use with boyesens? bike is 250 '07 Beta

    Flywheel Weight

When you take the bolts off, could you measure the length of them including the head please? thanks
  7. Is that not a little too strong? The table I have says it for bearing retention? I was thinking something somewhere between 242 and 290?
  8. What number or colour is a good general purpose one for stopping Beta loosing it's bolts? Want something fairly strong...needs to hold the flywheel weight on amongst other things? thanks

    Ngk Plug

Currently got a Champion Racing plug, which is very good, but am about to order an NGK as a spare. NGK website recommends BP7ES, but BP5ES for sherco/GasGas etc. I know Lampkins recommend a BP5 SO my options are BPR5EIX - Iridium BPR5ES BP5ES BPR5EVX - platinum or should experiment with BP6 or BP7? thanks
  10. Whilst on the subject of two maps, does anybody how complicated it is to load them? Say you have a 'Sainz' map on 1, and a more aggresive one on number 2. Could you change number 2 for a soft setting for a muddy trial, without it affecting number 1 or having to re-load number 1? If that makes sense?
  11. THAT'S AWESOME!!! Where'd you get the sticky stuff for doing that? Any M&M's ones?!
  12. What's the web address for s3 racing? Can't seem to find it!
  13. Great coverage once again from TC but wondering would it be possible to have the videos downloadable in one folder...zip file ? (for the lazy people )

    Float Valve

125 don't use Mikuni's do they? Should have a Dellorto carb, the one with the massive idle screw? If it is Dellorto, check your floats aren't sticking on the poles. The tiniest amount of dirt in between the pole and the float will cause it to stick and thus not shut the valve off. I'd also recommend removing your existing float valve, hold it up to the light and see if there is any marks/imperfections etc. The smallest of marks here will allow fuel to bypass the valve. Before you buy anything, strip everything and examine very closely. Get a needle or very fine flat head screwdriver and clean everything! Dan
  15. Can I have my result please? number 52 - Daniel Beaven (twinshock) Any chance you could e-mail me full results please? DanBeaven@hotmail.com 6th in class with a score of 59......not bad considering 15 of those were for time. That beats a lot of the local top intermediates.......well done. Cant email results as ive only got a paper copy. Woops, thought I had ages for time Was I 5th or 6th. I've just seen the championship standings on ACU site and it said 5th? Oh well, do better next time

  17. First time I'd ridden the trial. Riding a TLR250 in twinshock class on 'championship' route. I thought the severity was about right, but there were a few 'unecessary' tight bits. For example: section 26 (I think) was a really good section, but had a random really tight off-camber right hander to get out the ends. Made it very frustrating as I'd cleaned the rest of the section and then had to three to get round the turn Another one was the section by the fuel dump! Jeebus that was tight! Really nice ride round though, not too much road either which is good! Ps: Did anyone see the car crash by the start?!
  18. Agreed, can't really do much with the seat positions. Nigel, it is a T5, have tried the bike that way round, but do you not find the mudguard hits the top/back of seats? Or do the YOU HAVE USED WORDS OR A PHRASE WHICH ARE NOT PERMITTED ON THIS WEBSITE. PLEASE DELETE YOUR POST/TOPIC. DO NOT TRY TO CIRCUMVENT THE FILTERS IN PLACE ON THIS WEBSITE racks raise the bike slightly?
  19. Does anyone have any suggestions for best way to load bikes in the back of a Transporter? It's the LWB Kombi with three seats behind the driver/passenger ones, and the load bay is just a little too short for a bike in there straight. Also, the tie-down points are really badly located.... Has anyone made a decent rack to go in their's? Have thought of a couple of examples, but just looking to see how other people secure their bikes...... thanks
  20. I've found that the Jitsie's can actually be a bit 'restrictive' on the breathing side - although the air box stays very clean. Try the Twin Air filters, think they can be found on Ebay??
  21. Has anyone junked the standard beta fatbars in favour of renthal ones? Interested in if they feel any better, as the stock items feel very 'flat'. thanks
  22. I've found best thing is to get all fitted nicely, and then pop a drop of glue in either side of the rubber
  23. What a clever idea. Looks quite smart as well
  24. Check ya nuts and bolts are tight Definately one of the most important things...
