  1. Hi there! I have recently completed a rebuild of a 1972 247 Cota. The bike is now running well and I even managed to resurrect my worn out Amal carb by replacing just about everything!! The only problem I have now, is that occasionally the kickstart slips when kicking the bike over. The engine was in good running condition when I got the bike, so apart from the top end, it has not been stripped. Before I start stripping the engine, I would appreciate anyone's thoughts on what causes this and the cure.
  2. The Amal on my 1972 Cota 247 is just about worn out and I am thinking of changing it for a Mikuni. Has anyone done this mod and can give a walk through of what is required, jet sizes etc etc? Thanks!

    Cota 247 Oils

I have returned to trials after a break of more years than I care to mention and I am currently restoring a 1972 Cota 247. I have been receiving conflicting advice on the premix ratio using modern oils. Any advice would be appreciated. Also, what recommendations does anyone have for clutch and gearbox oils? Thanks!!!!
