  1. Hi, There's lots of clubs near Pontypridd and they are all very relaxed. There's a fund raising trial in Merthyr this Sunday which will be a great way to see how rubbish some of us and meet people from various clubs. That should give you the confidence to realise that no matter how bad you are on a trials bike, there will be people who are worse :-) Come along and have a go? Details are on Welshtrials events page....
  2. I'm no expert on legal stuff but I recon your issue is with the shop you bought them from. They were happy to take your money for the boots so they should sort it for you. If they then have to go back to Gaerne to get their money back then thats they're problem not yours.... I'd tell the shop that you want a new pair now and if they don't sort it report them to Trading standards and I bet you'll then get a nice shiny new pair....
  3. I'm 41 and started 3 years ago and am loving the sport. There's loads of clubs and competitions in South Wales so your in the right place. Now you just need the bike :-) Don't make the mistake some people make and wait until they feel they are good enough to compete. Get out to a trial and see how bad some of us are........ Welshtrials.com is a great place to get info about up and coming trials. There's one this Sunday near Abergavenny, see Welshtrials.com for details of start, address etc....

  5. Thanks for your replies, I have managed to find someone to work on it so fingers crossed!! Rob
  6. Hi, I've broken the gearbox and wondered if anyone could suggest where I could take it to be fixed, I live near Cardiff, South Wales. Thanks, rob
  7. Cheers! Done alot of practicing and thought I'd got the hang of it but there was lots of stuff on Sunday that was way too difficult for my current level but I had a great day and am glad I entered even if I did come 3rd (there were only 3 in my category :-) ) I'm not sure but I asked the same question but nobody seemed to know. The guy that organised Sunday is the best bet but not sure how to get hold of him... I'm hoping to go to the Trial in Carmarthen on Saturday and if I see him I'll ask and let you know...I know of a couple of good places if you wanna meet up I'll show you...
  8. Thanks again for the advice, it was very useful preparation for the event!!! I had a great day out and really enjoyed myself, the organisers were great, taking time to explain how things worked and the other riders were very helpful with riding tips and gear selection etc. The results aren't yet out but I'll be very surprised if I'm not last, but thats all part of the fun :-) Thanks to everyone at the Merthyr event!!! Can't wait till my next one now...
  9. Thanks very much for the tips.....Just gotta get on and do it now :-) I'll let you know how I got on....
  10. Hi I'm new to Trials and am hoping to enter my first competition this weekend and wondered if anyone could offer any advice on what to expect and any tips???? Thanks, Rob
