    hi all can any one offer some advice on removing the speedo on my 2006 300 want to put a kill switch on but can't seem to find any threads relating to removal of said speedo cheers in advance

    hi all i have just rebuilt my engine after having the cylinder plated went for my second ride since rebuild after about two hours noticed fan not working i was just about to pack up for the day when the water pipe from the top of the radiator to the cylinder blew out. almost shat meself any ideas on what would cause this cheers

    me and a mate rode last year for the first time. my mate drowned his bike in one of those deep puddles he said his bars went under the water and i went over the bars about a minute out of the start then after one lap my arms fell off. doing it again this year i must be a glutton for punishment as the only training done is to drink more beer in the run up to it.

    a couple of things to check on the bike is the stator and the contacts clean and is the middle box sealing properly to the rest of the system and also is the woodruf key not sheared my 04 270 didn't have a fly wheel weight when i bought it and i was forever stalling it in sections fitted a weight now its fine the 270 is vicious compared to the 04 250 in my experience had a go on a 250 nearly killed myself as i hadn't given it enough

    i have an 04 and it did the same took it back they said to change coolant often which i did then about 3 months later noticed the bike was running realy hot at a trial so checked coolant which was down (it was june) filled up and set off again when i noticed a jet of water coming out of the front of the casing had to replace the whole thing as the rot had gotten so bad

    you could try another plug did you clean the contacts inside the fly wheel also chase the wiring from stator to plug to check nothing has come loose

    it could be wear in the rear swing arm bearings .if i rode my bike five miles over the moor with a flat tire (rear) would that knacker the side walls as the tire is about a month old? cheers for all the replies will investigate further

    hi all just done a spen trial and i noticed something strange on the bike it seems to squirm side to side when i opened the throttle.checked all the bolts and axles and the tire pressure every thing as it should be.if i grab the back wheel and move it side to side there seems to be a lot of movement no bearing knock could it be the bearings starting to let go i'm baffled

    fitted bearings quite easily that freezer trick works put all fluids back in started bike rode it a little then it started p***ing coolant ah you've guessed it water pump casing has rotted through this after lampkins told me this repsol stuff will not eat through the case another 60 quid gone going to take up hopscotch its cheaper

    hi all does any one know of any companys that will do van insurance that is'nt for commercial use last time i had a van it cost a fortune

    the way i look at it is if i do it i can ride at the end of the month if i pay someone i can afford to get it fixed around christmas. have stripped plenty of car engines just never my bike didn't know if everything had to come off e.g. remove all the gears out of gear box. by the way a quote for the job doing included 20 hours labour far too much money

    hi all just about to strip engine to replace main bearings couple of questions if anyone can answer do i need to remove clutch to split the cases what else do i have to remove other than the flywheel

    hi all my mate bought the above bike i said i would help him give it a service as it his first bike problem is i own a beta and not sure of thing like changing the oil as it looks like a different method to the beta also how much do you put in as his clutch is dragging quite badly any other advice for servicing would be great eg fuel mix and such like cheers hamster

    thanks for the reply i bought 95 octane fuel by accident my car needs 98 octane same as the bike i just wasn't paying attention at the pump i have solved the problem anyway cheers
