Stevie, Ben, I have a 2010 Sherco 250 that is just as snappy. Ive geared it differently, ive jetted it main and pilot, and im considering other adjustments. Namely, the three base gaskets, and or retarding the timing. Ive already got the slow throttle. Here is the web site to get expert instruction and pictures to guide you through these modifications. www.sherco.com/wayne_corner.html good luck.
Please let me know how to put up those one touch blue web sites. Anyone?

Trust me Copey, im not like the others.

Thanks Tony, ......... Mother nature is dealing us a nor' easter at the moment, probably a foot of snow or more. Just the wind is shaking the whole house. This could delay progress and results a few days. I'll keep you posted. rr

Thats my bike to a tee, 40-50F she"s a three kick. But down around freezing she must be laid down. Darn now, i'm gonna have to get serious, ya got me wondering......is it a #60, 70, or what? Only thing is, i hate it when my fingers freeze.! I guess i'll have to spend 15 or 20 mins. And wrestle it off and into the cellar for further inspection, besides, it'll be a good time to test it while it's still cold out.

Neale, Thanks. Ive searched on a larger screen computer to find that line missing.[Trials central, forums, members, blogs.] Aaaagh, darn smart phones
-
Thanks again guys, At'l work for me.
-
Holiday greetings to all. With the new format, ive not been able to find the member list. Any suggestions?
-
Would either of those be known as the pilot jet, or main jet?
-
Smart phones will always switch little words like stereo, for SHERCO! Cheers
-
A certain 250 Stereo Access with VHST flat slide carb will not start when cold, without laying the bike on its side for a minute. Is there some adjustment that can be made? Should I try raising the float level? How much,? if so .
-
Great advice guys, thanks for all the encouragement. I've now been able to secure a Viper X bike for practice training. Cheers
-
I think if I had to I would clean the area extremely well with solvent, with bike laying on it's side. Then I would apply a thin coat of clear silicone, then let set for 24 hours. If that's helpful.

I'm wondering if a push trials bike could be used for training. Maybe i've watched too many Danny MacAskill videos but, it would seem that practicing some techniques could be achieved more safely with a bike that weighs 1/6th as much, and therefore the transition to a motorized model could be made with more confidence. Does anyone have some experience on this subject, or an opinion?

Gentlemen, it is my understanding that these people collecting benefits will be required to do work in the public sector, I.E, lawn care, gardening, litter patrol, public service. Jobs that otherwise were performed by public servants, and only help out as subordinates. Understandably, new growth in jobs can only be achieved by investment by the private sector. This in turn must be followed by government incentives such as tax breaks to stimulate spending. This is called capitalism. Government does not, cannot, create revenue producing jobs. It can only grow government at the expense of others. This is called socialism, sharing the wealth, taking from the rich to give to the poor. We've seen this happening here more than 50 years, and maybe worse in Europe since the end of WW II. What's a Country to do? I Applaud the U.K. for taking those dramatic measures.

fftc, Have you looked at the classified section from Trials Central? I've always seen interesting bikes there from time to time. At least you'll know it's from another member.

Congratulations for taking the first step in restoring economic world order. We can only hope this plan will make it less appealing to stay home and collect a paycheck. My hope is that this trend toward austerity and common sense will lend itself appeal here and around the world to save us all from economic collapse. A new beginning in self reliance and less government. Kudos

Stilly, I have not experienced that with my late model 5 speed. I'm wondering if it might have a bent shift fork inside the transmission. Also, I've never occurred a false neutral which makes me think bent shift forks. If that's any help.
-
Congrats on your new purchase,Chris. Now you're one of us Sherco nuts. Hope you enjoy the bike trouble free. Over here we,(I) run run aviation fuel, supposed to be over 100 octane, mine does no pinking.
-
My front disc started to rattle last weekend,at first I thought it might be loose but realized it was a full floater. No worries, I may try that silicone fix too.
-
Austerity, long over due in the U.S., will now be coming to the U.K.. Might this lessen the number of Trials events scheduled to take place in Your Country.
-
Ditto's Chewy, Also, you may try pumping up pressure in the master clutch, before opening the bleeder. Hope this is helpful.
-
Squid, that's a good place to start negotiations. I've got twice that in mine (when new) but, a Sherco's a good bike.
-
As I recall, the rotary valve Rotax engines from the early 70's were very reliable. We only sold Can-Am motocross and enduro models in the U.S.

Karl, this is an easy task. First, follow the clutch line down to the slave to find the bleeder screw. This looks the same as any brake caliper bleeder screw. Next, open the clutch master and make sure its full of fluid. Now, squeeze the clutch briskly a number of times until the clutch feels firm. Hold the lever tight to the bar, and open the slave bleeder to watch the fluid pee out under pressure. DO NOT RELEASE the clutch lever until you tighten the bleeder screw. Try this a couple of times, You should be okay. The same procedure could be used to change/flush the fluid completely.
