you are in a good part of the country for starting trialling as there are several clubs within 30-60 minutes drive away that hold trials with route suitable for beginners. "Manchester 17" hold a series of "dead easy" trials with two routes, an absolute beginners route and slight harder (but still relatively easy) route. Their dead easy series starts again on Sunday 3rd April at Victory Quarry near the outskirts of Buxton. They are a firendly bunch and there are always plenty of new riders there.

The "So this is Yorkshire" DVD has a lot of historic information about trials events going right back, may be worth watching to glean some info off. (plus its a good laugh watching them dragging the big bikes thru Yorkshire bogs!)

I hear there are plenty of "nearly" new ones soon to hit the 2nd hand market!!
