Hi

I was recently at a trial (2 weeks ago) where I had an accident, noting to major but I ended up being off work for 2 days. When I returned to work I was told that the company sick scheme dose not cover people who are competing in dangerous sports. On this occasion this didn

That is correct unfortunately.

Someone who worked with me was fired for being off work for 6 weeks due to a moto x accident as its not covered in company insurance or company policy as its "self inflicted"

Doesn't the ACU cover stuff like this?

I'm not an ACU member yet but I heard that somewhere.

Also you can get seperate insurance policies for this stufffrom run of the mill insurance brokers.

I bet it wouldn't even have been mentioned if you'd been playing football. It happens to me all the time: Someone turns up at work with a broken wrist sustained during a football match and the boss is all "hard luck mate, how did the match go, did you win?" whereas whenever I show up with a bit of a limp following an off in the previous days' trial it's all frowns and "you need to think seriously about packing that in..."

current acu polciy is no longer covers personal accident insuracne - only death, limbs, etc and off work for more than 6 six weeks

so you can't get anything off the acu mate for that im afraid - from what you say
