dale
On going over the bike today,i noticed a couple of loose spokes -tried tightening them up but the whole spoke was turning, not just the nipple, any tips on holding the spoke without chewing up the crome?Cheers
2fargone
Put some WD40 on them and leave them overnight and try again tomorrow. If it still won't free I have sometimes managed to get away with mole grips and spoke key and as a last resort remove the wheel and hold the spoke in a vice but use some alluminium soft jaws in the vice to protect the spoke. If it still won't budge or if it hasn't snapped yet, buy a new spoke and nipple and cut the old one out and replace.
dortwilder
Yep, I have the same problem. I have been told that a 'blowtorch' should heat them up and loosen them. Maybe thats the go if the WD40 doesn't work. Let us know how you go
