fordson major
Just looking at the Jitsie website and they are doing a Beta airfilter cover that allows more airflow than the standard one. Seem to remember hearing that SXS were going to make something similar.Has anyone got one of these and is there a noticeable difference in performance? Cheers, Rob
j@mes
seen them before on a bike that was involved with saunders that was the beginning of the year. i imagine they seal up the top better as well because the lip comes out over the mudguard. kinell
I saw some Beta's last weekend with those lids fitted, I've no idea if they work or not but they looked crap!

barrybaines
does toni bous bike have one? answer no Was the point that was made too me a moment ago. Sarcastically I said well theres the reason for the 4RT then! but obviously the truth is they are just a gimmick and as we have a witness saying they look crap too I may withdrawl my statement about buying one! fordson major
I couldn't care less how it'd look on my bike! The only reason I am interested in the airbox lid is because I want to get more air into my Beta 125 so it'll rev better, this isn't a gimmick as Jack Challoners bike has a similar airbox lid and I doubt he'd have anything unnecessary on his bike Edited September 29, 2006 by Beta120690
barrybaines
Sorry I haven`t looked at the 125`s and this may be a great idea for said bike Hope we get a reply from someone with a 125 that has one?
j@mes
the bike i saw it on was a
kinell
I couldn't care less how it'd look on my bike! Fair enough... I heard that the Jitsie air filter is thicker than the standard Beta one and doesn't allow the engine to breathe properly. So, maybe the thick filter and raised lid just brings it back to the same level as a Beta filter and Beta lid! Are you using a Jitsie filter? No I'm not using a Jitsie filter and I can see the point you are making, that post is more along the lines of what I were after when I started the thread I can see from the picture what the filter looks like I just wanted to know if it increased performance. eddie_lejeune
take the plastic off the mudguard and just leave the wire mesh that will get more air in . Not that these bikes need it.
north_yorkshire_lad
i thought bous bike had drilled holes in and around the air box, could be wrong and when you listern to jacks bike it does rev better than most of the other. ron
You are thinking wrong lad.... The airbox is plenty big as it is the same on a 270.... it is not an intake issue for revvving... It is the out side.. clean up your head pipe... if you,or someone you know is keen with a dremel tool you can work the exhaust port some .. any way AIR intake is not your issue..
