Looking forward to a great weekend coming as a great reunion will be happening between myself and some longitme friends. First off, heading to some chaps place, some might know him as Ishy or rtclick, whatever that is supposed to mean :D . Then on to the local trials dealer for a visit. Then onto the trials site at the base of Mt.Hood Oregon, which I haven't visited since riding a National there in84! In attendance will be COTA regulars such as Ishy, Dennis Sweeten, Jay Lael, Jay Terry. Out of towner list uncludes myself and my son, former SWM and Fantic sponsored rider Dave Pyle. The there will be other locals who haven't been to a trial in many years, former Fantic dealer and rider Duane Rinkes and hopefully a rare appearance by former SWM/Fantic High School Class National Champ Vance "the Jelly Donut" Walker. It will obviously be everything it is billed as, simply by the fact that it has been at least close to 20yrs since all of these names have been in the same place!!! Hopefully someone will get some incriminating pictures! News at 11!

Cheers, Steve

The base of Mt Hood, that's my favortie place in the whole country. Are you going to Zig Zag? Or has that area been given over to the enlightened ones who realize that trials bike cause global warming and sonic agitation of the cosmic vibrations.

Out of all the places I've been, the base of Mt Hood is the coolest. Hey, if you see Peekaboo Street at the local store, say hi.

Steve - Good luck to you & Matt at the Trial - Some of the guys will no doubt look a bit different after 20 years

- Be sure to tell them that there are a couple of Fantic 212's being very well looked after in Vernon, and that the pictures on my site will be updated soon. And lastly, don't forget my parts - Oh ! and if you happen to see Hughy - get those fenders off him ! :D

What a great champion she was, we did a Nike add with her in 1998! The add was her in a wheel chair in a hospital, we ran her down stairs on a rig and blasted her through the hospital like she was in a downhill race.

She was nice enought to sign a racing poster of her when she won the Olympics. It graces a wall in our Ski Chalet.

Have fun men, I simply love that area and have not ridden there since 1978.

Had just an amazing weekend down in Oregon. Just got home tonight! Picked up the 300 from Ishy. For all of you who saw the pic on the Fantic thread, it is just as immaculate as it looks, and it runs really nice. Motor sounds like new!! With the help of Ish, we sorted the poor mans version of a spark arrestor for my lads bike. Piece of metal screen and hose clamp from Ishy's shop!! cheers for that Ish! Had a small ride there on my new 300, lad got to ride around a bit too. Compared the Beta and Sherco 80's, both nice. Think the Beta is still the best out of the box!

Check out this star studded past master list of rider's from the Northwest. Attending the campfire festivities were, Kary Krahel, Dave Pyle, Duane Rinkes, Vance Walker, myself and some new friends who are great guys in the COTA club. Absent and duly missed was Mr. Jay Lael. Hope the lads OK, was really looking forward to hearing some guitar playing and singing though! At the trial the next day, Ish was there as well as another Canuck great, Stan Bakgaard. I would say that it has been at least 20yrs since we were all in the same place together!

Biggest kick for me was the trial the next day. Minding for my son and watching him ride the best trial of his life so far. His new Rev80 is truly brilliant and the practise he has been doing is starting to pay off. He ended up winning the Novice class having a brilliant ride!(Lookout TTC next year) Loop scores of 7-7-1!! It was neat to be able to ride against Ishy's lad again after a couple years and see how we are doing! After driving back home for 6hrs then taking ferry back to the island and driving home, first thing out of my lads mouth, can I ride my bike now Dad?? :P Cheers for a great weekend lads!

Steve
