north_yorkshire_lad
does anyone know where i can purchase a lighter throttle spring for my keihin, when we had the carb fitted to the bike (06 125) the throttle seemed to be heavier than everyone elses. cheers
coxy
take your throttle spring out of your carb and cut it down two to three turns but do it a little at a time until you are happy but dont go too far otherwise it`ll not spring back, maybe also give all the throttle a really good clean aswell and use only a tiny bit of grease on the bars just enough to give it a thin coat otherwise this will also affect the performance
nigel dabster
Much better way is to grind a little material off the spring a it one way then the other , good way to take a bit off and maintain the position and spring length both important. have a spare in case you do too much. baldilocks
Dont forget the cable, I run wd40 or gt 85 down the cable once a month, disconnect from the carb end first. this makes the throttle feel lighter as well.
