clarkp
osh - this is a TXTC club event, so its not a huge deal - I don't think I'd drive from Illinois to ride it! This will be my second event of this type, so we're still sorting out what makes it the most fun; we're definitely on the right track, though! The loop is fairly small as the property is only about 35 acres - the loop is similar to what we ran at the national this year which makes it about 2.2 miles or so. We will ride three loops. The starter will send each rider out on their minute and all you have to do is haul booty - you don't have to stop at the sections, just ride through and keep going. The observer will mark your dabs on their clipboard tally sheet. You come blasting by the scoring table at the end and your loop end time is registered from the master clock. Times are entered into an Excel spreadsheet which calculates your loop time. At the end of the event we post your time and dabs for each loop and a total for the event - low score wins. Morning and afternoon riders will ALL go at the same time, that is, I won't have a morning event and an afternoon event for the separate classes. Each of the 6 sections will have an 'A' line for the afternoon riders and a 'B' line for the morning classes - so EVERYONE will be out at the same time; leaving on one minute intervals, of course. There is no time limit to ride each loop, but there will be a 10 or 15 minute break max time limit between loops. I don't want guys riding one loop and going to camp for a nap between their loops. This wasn't much of a problem at the summer event. If you don't show up after 15 minutes you'll get a DNS thereby disqualifying you. Hit the link on my previous post for a copy of the ScotTISH Trials Race event flyer. The event is 1 day only and is $20 ($15+5 land use) for TXTC members and $25 ($20+5 land use) for non-members. Primitive camping is free and 15 camp sites with 15 AMP RV power are something like $15 / day. The following day, Sunday, is the Tish Turkey Trial which is a classic trial event.
