cubby
Gasserman - Nothing too special, just has the suspension and carburation set up really well. This makes such a difference and it pickes up and grips as good as anything. He did have a Kehin carb on it but I've got the standard one back on it now. I bought another bike off him a few years agao, it was one he won the Scottish on, I think in 97? It was a 270 and was probably the best bike I have ever had. It was so well sorted and handled absolutely brilliantly. When it came back from Scotland the engine had everything renewed and the suspension was nicely run in. baldilocks
Cubby currently trying to tame my 06 300. I got on with it ok at first and actually rode it as well as my 250. But then had a month off, now i'm back riding I find its just too quick. It had the thicker base gasket in when i got it so Ive now put a spacer between the reeds and the inlet. I'll let you know if this helps after sundays wrestling session !!
cubby
Cheers Baldilocks. I strated off the same thinking that it wasn't a massively different to my 250. That was until I had to ride it between sticks set put by someone else! My first step will be to put on the thicker gasket and go from there so it will be interesting to hear how your mods work out. Still slac though and haven't even started!
toofasttim
Hmm, observations from yesterday: Not too bad. I'm rusty and unfit (haven't ridden a modern bike for about 2 years). I elected for the inter lines until I'm fitter. I dropped silly marks where I stalled (damnit!). First seems the best choice for most sections. But I had the same experience when I came back to trials from enduros. Second IMO still too high, in spite of the 10T sprocket. Maybe I need more practice. Smooth as a babies though. Crack the throttle and there isn't much it won't get up, even with me on board. Summing up, if you're fit and reasonably competant I don't see much of a problem. Thing fell off the stand on the second section and dinged the frame. B%gger!
