felix
I've pretty much decided after going thru a phase of wanting a digital camera, then a Nintendo Wii (I've always had Nintendo's) that I want an XBox 360 for Christmas, what I'm gonna do is ask for cash then buy one in the January sales, plus they'll be even cheaper cos of the release of the Wii and PS3, what I want to know is... What are your favourite games? I'm thinking Moto GP, GTA 4 but I'm unsure about what else, maybe Godfather and another shooter game (I don't want all shooting games like the box seems to specialise in). Any help greatly appreciated. Thanks in advance, Richard. Edited November 22, 2006 by Felix
ianj
Hi, Got my 360 a few weeks ago......got about 10 games already. Top of the list is Call Of Duty 3..............most of the others have been sat by the wayside for now. PS. Network your 360 to your PC (XP) and enjoying streaming your whole MP3, Dvd & digital pictures collection to your 360. It's awesome and in HD!....and the main reason I bought mine.......gaming comes second. We had an open day at our house last Sunday for all our relatives and it went down a treat viewing all my digital pics via a slideshow on the HD telly. Ian. felix
I take it you need the hard drive to link it to your pc. Is there anything you can do with your pc, without the hard drive on the 360 ? EDIT: If a 360 and an XP Media Centre Edition PC are connected, either by cable or wireless networking, is it possible to play music on the 360 even if it doesn't have a hard drive to store them on, I suppose it would be streaming, and would the streasmed music be good quality? Please reply if you know about this as I am very curious. Thanks, Richard. Edited November 22, 2006 by Felix
ianj
Hi, Streaming music is CD quality......and if you stream movies there's no jerkiness or pixelation. I've started ripping my entire DVD collection to my PC so that I can play movies on-demand. Ian.
neonsurge
I'm waiting for Halo 3 before considering buying an XBox 360. Until then my *ahem* modified XBox does everything I need (streaming music and video etc.) I really hope Bungie don't screw up H3 or pander to the demands of the MLG crowd... Mind you, Gears Of War looks mighty impressive but that's another shooter of course. How about Oblivion on the 360? I have the PC version and it's awesome. felix
I've ordered the 360 now Bit worried about overheating etc. Which way do you reckon is best to stand the console, it'd be helpful for me to stack it horizontally for ease of disc loading and safety? Gonna get gears of War and Moto GP 06 hopefully to play on, and then San Andreas and Halo for cheap in the classics range of XBOX1. Thanks for your help, Richard. ianj
Hi, You can buy a fan module that fits to the back of the 360........however, what you gotta take care of is the power supply. Don't sit it on a carpet....sit it somewhere where it can breath. Ian.
felix
I heard that if you dangle the power supply from a piece of string it helps... ...Of course, you can achieve the same results by just making sure all sides of the unit are uncovered. What is oblivion about, I've seen it on quite a few lists of good games?
andy_290
I like (nay love) Gears of War PGR3 Call of Duty 3 Splinter Cell Double Agent Rainbow Six Vegas (Coming Soon) Don't like Oblivion Dead Rising The best thing about the 360 is playing live against other people. I also love the way that you can download demos of games to see if you like them before buying
