james u have to drill and extra hole james because the fender bolt holds the silencer on as well so if you cable tie it on the exhaust will woble so when u drill the extra hole the exaust bolts on normaly and tha cable tie goes through the new hole, and yes the bash plate is ment to be that shape it protects the covers on the sides of the engine and it also helps keep the rocks of the water pump and i dont see why you could not use an 03 fender cause it was in 02 they changed the airbox they have now but it will not fit on pre 2001 rev 3

Going to have to get me some of that stuff beta boy......most of the original coating has come off due to legs rubbing on the frame by the footpegs.

little parts ,like the front wheel spoke nipples and front/back brake banjo`s (joint of pipe to caliper) rust in front of my eyes in wet conditions .Bike looks terrible when this happens.Been out looking for a decent cleaner ...one that cleans and protects ...like a wash and wax for cars, but cant find anything like that .

regards

very nice steve how come your exaust is titanium colour and what is that big black bit on it and do u no how much the carbon fibre bit is on the middle exhaust

The Titanium colour is standard, the front pipe was replace as the old one was damaged in a crash.

The black bit is a piece of front innertube stretched over the joint, it was a temporary bodge as the join between the middlebox was leaking slightly and the kickstart was touching the exhaust. In fact it worked so well I left it on!

Not sure of the price of the Carbon-fibre middle box cover but you should buy one as that area does let your bike down a bit.

No didn't melt at all, but then the o'rings inside are rubber and they don't melt do they?

I suppose it depends on the leak as to how effictive it will be, I only put mine on because I had run out of silicon, but it worked well and didn't look out of place so I left it.

Cheers Steve, I'm going to try the innertube thing too..."cause hopefully it will stop my kick start rattling against the exhaust..AND cure the leak.

I've tried silicon, and fatter O rings inside the exhaust, and it still leaks alot.

I'll let you know how I get on with the innertube!
