ktmsprocket
All, What is the desirable compression test range for a Sherco 290 '03 model? Thanks in advance. ((I presume the test is done with 15 kicks at WOT)) Edited January 8, 2007 by KTMSprocket

copemech
The compression ratio is near 10:1, cannot recall exact, but that means 140psi or so on the guage would be normal at somewhere near sea level. It has always been easier to "feel" the kickstart lever resistance as compared to a newer bike if you suspect something is wrong. Other things come into play such as piston rattle that may indicate a problem with wear.
ktmsprocket
I bought it. You need to have the weight of an elephant to kick it over....so i thinkg the compression is good. PS. Flipped it already.....
